Prayer for Cancer Patients only open if you will not be offended.
Prayer to Saint Peregrine O great St. Peregrine, you have been called "The Mighty," "The Wonder-Worker," because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you. For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fibre of our being,…

Let's play a round of diagnose Me -
OK, I know this sounds really wierd but here goes... For the past week or so, I've noticed this regular kind of tickle or rumblimg in my liver area. It feels kind of like a reverberation/electric combined with how "butterflies" in your stomach feel. It's very regular. It doesn't hurt at all but just not a normal bodily…

Not feeling so up today
You'd think with all the holidays going on I'd be feeling great. Then I get the reminder that I have stage 4 colon cancer at 38 years old with 4 kids one who is only 4 months old. I HATE cancer so much and wish it would just leave all of us alone. I just spent the last 30 minutes or so reading so much depressing stuff on…

FOLFOX #3 turned me into a tourist!
Round #3 So … I did well this round as I didn’t have a reaction during infusion. Woo Hoo! Seems the double Benadryl push, one at the beginning and one half way through works for me. So glad to get through an infusion without a reaction. One thing though is that I felt crummy before half way … remember I am at a 6 hour…

IRE/nanoknife
This topic has been mentioned before but I think it needs a some more attention. The good news is that it has been approved by the FDA for almost all types of soft tissue tumors and as of Dec 1, insurance companies will be required to recognize it as an option. My insurance company had turned me down earlier this month but…

1/2 Way of Protocol Nearly Completed - Here's Where I'm At - Sundance Update
Well, I’m just about at the end of my rope now, I’m swinging by a thread here. This radiation has beaten me and has me on the ropes – combined with the 5fu pump, I’ve begun to really take a whippin’. I’m breathing very hard right now, gasping for breath sometimes…and there is pain in the front and back of my lung…

Just wanted to say thank you Beth for taking on the Christmas card list and all the updates. It is very much appreciated. Well, I just got the results of my MRI bone scan yesterday. I have multiple bone mets. Been on chemo (FOLFIRI + Avastin + Zometa -- for strengthening the bones). PET scan after 4 cycles showed shrinkage, MRI after 4 more showed some not visible. But this scan (now after 12 cycles) showed no change in the bone mets (size,…

folfox club treatment #4
Lori I thought you may get the chance to pass me. My White blood cells went up but my platelets crashed another 10,000. I thought I was going to get delayed but they decided to go ahead but drop my dose 10%. They felt that this would still keep me on schedule and allow my platelets to climb out of the danger zone. My side…

Just Two Years Ago Today
Day before Thanksgiving two years ago and had my first colonoscopy and they found the tumor. They didn't tell me it was cancer but told me they took a biopsy. We drove home in silence. Had to come back the following Monday for an ultrasound. That Thanksgiving was so hard to get through. Sometimes I've wondered if…

just an update
Hey all As someone pointed out to me in a message I havent been around lately. I have been so busy around here and in such a wonderful way I let this slip away. That little note from my friend was a reminder, not that she meant it as such she was merely being a concerned and caring friend and I took it in the manner she…

PBS: FRONTLINE - Facing Death
I know this is probably a topic that most people do not want to be thinking about right now, but I was wondering if anyone happened to watch this episode of FRONTLINE that aired last night on PBS. I found it to be really good. It dealt with issues that can arise from any number of situations. It wasn't about cancer per se.…

2 years ago I was coming off my last oxili treatment. I was in very rough shape. Spend the last week of Oct in the hospital for dehydration. I was so weak, truly could not do much for so long. I continued with 5FU- but that was a piece of cake after the oxili. Going to repeat myself here- cause this stuff is going to be a…
