Thank you Dorookie and KathiM
Just wanted to say thank you Beth for taking on the Christmas card list and all the updates. It is very much appreciated. And thank you to Kathi for offering to play post office for those not in US to help reduce the cost of mailing. Maybe we should ask Santa for a postage reduction for mailing Christmas cards next year.…

Scan results -- good and bad
Well, I just got the results of my MRI bone scan yesterday. I have multiple bone mets. Been on chemo (FOLFIRI + Avastin + Zometa -- for strengthening the bones). PET scan after 4 cycles showed shrinkage, MRI after 4 more showed some not visible. But this scan (now after 12 cycles) showed no change in the bone mets (size,…

Calander...Herdizziness.....
Hey Dizz...sup? I have been taking orders for the calanders since this all started. I have over 50 orders already and they are asking when they will be in. I know you had mentioned before that you were trying to get them completed before Christmas...which is what I have been telling everyone. I know there was a hold up…

folfox club treatment #4
Lori I thought you may get the chance to pass me. My White blood cells went up but my platelets crashed another 10,000. I thought I was going to get delayed but they decided to go ahead but drop my dose 10%. They felt that this would still keep me on schedule and allow my platelets to climb out of the danger zone. My side…

Just Two Years Ago Today
Day before Thanksgiving two years ago and had my first colonoscopy and they found the tumor. They didn't tell me it was cancer but told me they took a biopsy. We drove home in silence. Had to come back the following Monday for an ultrasound. That Thanksgiving was so hard to get through. Sometimes I've wondered if…

just an update
Hey all As someone pointed out to me in a message I havent been around lately. I have been so busy around here and in such a wonderful way I let this slip away. That little note from my friend was a reminder, not that she meant it as such she was merely being a concerned and caring friend and I took it in the manner she…

PBS: FRONTLINE - Facing Death
I know this is probably a topic that most people do not want to be thinking about right now, but I was wondering if anyone happened to watch this episode of FRONTLINE that aired last night on PBS. I found it to be really good. It dealt with issues that can arise from any number of situations. It wasn't about cancer per se.…

2 years ago I was coming off my last oxili treatment. I was in very rough shape. Spend the last week of Oct in the hospital for dehydration. I was so weak, truly could not do much for so long. I continued with 5FU- but that was a piece of cake after the oxili. Going to repeat myself here- cause this stuff is going to be a…

Chemoablation for liver mets
Hi everyone, I'm new to the discussion forum. I have questions about chemo-ablation for liver tumors. My dad had rectal cancer 3 years ago. The cancer has now metastasized to the liver. He was unable to have the tumors cut off because he has cirrhosis of the liver. He is going to be meeting with a doctor that does…

First Xelox and third drain
Hi All, I went for my first Xelox tx. I've never been so glad to take some pills as I was to take the Xeloda. My belly was huge again from the ascites, to the point the pressure was making me take vicodin, which I never do. I was glad to have it though. Any way, I had the cal/mag infusion and I think it helped the cold…
