Question about Diagnosis
I have a question. I see a lot of people on here that said when they were diagnosed the doctors gave them a time frame to expect to live. When my mom was diagnosed in June they did not give her a time frame ? Is this normal ? If her situation was grim would the head of oncology tell my dad and family ? I am curious because…

The Sundance Channel: “Coming Soon!”
Rumor has it that if you live long enough – you will have seen everything:) But, that might not be the whole truth – because you haven’t seen ‘everything’ until you’ve seen “What’s Playing” on The Sundance Channel:) That’s right folks – I’ve got my own network TV show now and we’re readying for our inaugural series debut…

The Sundance Channel: “The Funeral”
Well, the funeral was held at the funeral home itself, in the same room as the visitation was – as I said before, it is a very small place. My family and I drove up and headed inside to look for a seat. Kim was at the end of her row for her ankle and sitting next to her sister. My niece had saved me a seat next to her at…

My oncologists will not look at me
I have 2 oncologists, one in the town I live, who is also working together with an oncologist in Chicago. When I go for my appointments, neither one of them will look at me! They talk to my husband like I am not even in the room. Does anyone else experience this? Katherine

I had a scare
My CEA jumped from 4.2 in April to 5.2 in July. My previous high had been 4.6 so I thought my cancer had come back. I just had another CEA and it dropped to 5.0 so I guess I am OK. My doctor has cancelled the Sept. CEA and I am back on quarterly CEA testing. I have gone over 3.5 years NED. I have a question for the Board.…

Update after oncology appointment
So those of you that have been around for a while might remember my crazy request to pray for pancreatitis. I am asking again, just as I did in May 2010 (that time I did have it). It is a slight chance. I'd much rather deal with that than cancer progression. I'm not really that crazy! ;) Updates on my CaringBridge tonight.…

Ritalin for fatigue??
Hi all, Rick has been having extreme fatigue eleven out of fourteen days ever since he started on Folfiri,so the oncologist prescribed Ritalin today. Cycle 2, Day 1 Clinical trial TRC 105
Saw head doc today, in charge of the trial...So far everything looks good. Blood work is a bit low in areas, but stable. Best news yet, CEA down from 14.4 to 12.3. YESSSSS! It had been steadily rising since May, like every week. Scan scheduled for Aug 22 and that's when we will know the whole story. Side effects have been…

rough scan results
Got scan results back today and they were a mixed bag. The good is that the tumors in the colon and liver are stable but the ones in the lungs continue to multiply. There were 10 new ones since the last scan in late March. Since surgery is out the plan is do do 5fu pump 24/7 for eight weeks and then do scans again. The…

The Sundance Channel: “The Visitation”
We were all pretty tired about five-hours later when we had to get back up. It felt like a hangover minus the alcohol. Standing in the doorway wondering which bad wolf was sleeping in her sister’s bed was my little grandniece, whom I had not yet met, with this very inquisitive look on her little face. They said, “That’s…
