Alpha Lipoic Acid & Low Dose Naltrexone
Another day, another adjuvant treatment to add to the battle with my little mutants. Today I started Alpha Lipoic Acid IV, in combination with low dose Naltrexone. There is no definitive phase 3 trial to prove the benefits of this treatment, but there is enough research and anecdotal evidence for me to justify having a go.…

Colon Cancer mets to lungs Stage IV
In October, 2009 my husband had his first colonoscopy at age 50. They found a pedunculated polyp that they removed. Pathology said it was cancerous and since the parameters were too close they suggested colorectal surgery. They removed 8 inches of his colon and tested everything including several lymph nodes. All clear, no…

Just Checking in
Hi everyone and especially to my old Folfox Club people. Some of the original number are still around. I just finished another surgery a couple of weeks ago to repair duel hernias. It turned out when I got chemo-inducted cirrhosis and my abdomen was flooded the pressure caused the hernias. Not a fun procedure and a lot of…

Neupogen and side effects
I've had two shots so far, and had an awful night with constant shooting pain in my lower back and hips. I took a couple of Tylonol, which brought the pain down a bit, and of course my ever present hot water bottle. I am scheduled to have these shots every five days after getting unhooked from my 5FU. Am I to expect…

"The REPURPOSING of Our Lives In and Out of the Cancer World” - The Concept That Evolved Into an Ide

I asked for the scan report so that I could get it to our team in Madison today still. I got home, scanned the report and sent it to the surgeons assistant and waited to hear what everyone had to say.…
