Debates and arguments go here???
Would love it if we can have one place for all the arguments to go, so those of us that don't want to read them don't have to stumble across the childishness through several different threads. It's completely ridiculous. I liked Ann's post about luck - I thought especially fitting with St. Patrick's day coming up and all,…

Posted a new avatar so I wouldn't seem so invisible ...
for a long time I had no picture, then one of our dog, and then one of my painting of the horses, and then ... well, since I have been a bit more vocal of late :) I thought it only fair to reveal a bit more of myself. I am a very shy person, but I am encouraged by all the wonderful pictures folks have been sharing. Hoping…

New to all this
Hi! My name is Rosemari and I had a colon resection on January 30. I start chemo next Wednesday, 3/20. It is scary but reading through this discussion board, it seems you all have really good information to share. I am getting a port next week and hope I can do this with your guidance. Rosemari

If you are a milk drinker, this IS frightening:
http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2013/03/13/unlabeled-aspartame-use.aspx (I'm off for breakfast-walk to diner bit over a mile away- and enjoy milk with my unsweetened coffee and eggs with rye or whole wheat dry;might do glass of milk later or with whey protein in blender)

Got to vent, can't tell anyone yet.
I have been cancer free for 15 years. I had Colon Cancer when I was 36 years old. I had not been going to my annual exams as I should. The last 5 years I have been dealing with a lot of family issues. Today was my exam. I stayed awake through the exam as I usually do. The doctor and I saw the polyp at the same time. It was…

Good Bye my Dear, Dear Friend Clift "Buzzard"
My heart is breaking at the loss of another dear friend. I changed my avatar once, and Buzzard wrote and asked me to change it back to me sitting on the beach at the ocean here in Santa Cruz, that's how he always thought of me, sitting, staring into the vast horizon. So I changed it back and it's been that same avatar for…

Sometimes the Doc just has to listen....
So, I was at the Oncologists today. Doing the normal Chemo treatment. See the nuurse, weigh in, BP, review the blood test, blah blah. The Onc comes in and asks if everything is going OK. I tell her that this chemo (Folfiri w/Avastin) makes me exceptionally nauseated. It makes me run to the bathroom and lose it for the next…

Well...with recurrence only months after ending the first round, more surgery and healing, now had another port placed and beginning treatment again in the morning. Hoping it goes a bit…

Ketogenic/glucose clarification
Ok, I first mentioned ketogenic diet to Pete a while ago, I also told him I had concerns with it as it didn't work for us, in fact we believe it made our son's tumour grow rapidly. I have posted this on the brain tumour board but people will do what people will do given the situation, who am I to say it wont work for them.…

My Resection is Tuesday :(
Uugghhh.... Sooo nervous. Might wake up with a liver pump might not. Won't know till I wake up and that's the scary part. Well, one of the scary parts. The whole cancer thing and surgery itself is terrifying. Well, my fellow fighters, here we go with round 2...

Vectibix
So for George last week Pet & CT are NED. However, Dr. swiched him from irinotecan & Xeloda to Vectibix and CEA went from 2.4 to 4.3. Dr. says dont worry but we worry. If in two weeks his CEA has anymore rise seems to me he should be back on Irinotecan. And how about Xeloda anyone just take that alone???

2nd day of 1st treatment
Yesterday was my first treatment. I came home with my stylish fanny pack. I get unhooked tomorrow. So far I haven't had any nausea or food aversions. That could be because they gave me an anti nausea med before and a steroid to help with that. I haven't had fatigue yet. I'm trying not to get cocky as I am sure I will not…

He has had no nausea, no vomiting, NO sensitivity to cold things (he is sipping on iced tea now) & has been eating more than he has in a few weeks. We are still in the…

They come in waves, clenching just above the belly button. They are not constant. I'll have several within a few minutes then go half and hour or so. I'm not…

Cancer sucks and I need to vent
First of all I am sorry about the loss of Buzz. I didn't know him that well like many of you but it was heartbreaking for me to see the picture of his family and imagining all of the heartache they are going through. I understand as a survivor of great loss. My first wife died 14 years ago and my mother died less than 2…
