Bilirubin
My onc doesn't know what it means, but I had to have my bilirubin rechecked because it was elevated at my 6 month checkup. I got the results yesterday, and it was still elevated, so now I need an appointment for an ultrasound to rule out liver or gall bladder involvement. I am really bummed.

How do you decide if a mastectomy is right for you?
I was told at first a total mastectomy of the left breast is what I could expect. Then told that I might consider having a complete mastectomy of both breast. Then later after the AC chemo treatment that a lumpectomy might be possible. Then after the MRI after that treatment that there is still some lumps in the breast but…

Exercise and how to prevent lymphedema
Evening, Hope everyone had a blessed holiday. I had a right mastectomy with lymph nodes removed about 18 months ago. Starting to work with weights for upper arm strength. I'm using the "life circuit" equipment; you do a "test" and based on that the machine sets the weight limits. Depending on the exercise the weights can…

Muscle Spasms in torso and neck
I think I come up with the strangest maladies, but here goes. I've been on aromatase inhibitors for almost one year. Within the last few months, I've noticed that if I turn a certain way, tilt my head a certain way, or reach for something, I get "charley horses" or muscle spasms in my midriff, back, shoulders and neck. I'm…

I'm a computer idiot!
I have read and re-read Joe's tutorials on posting pictures ... I am about ready to throw my computer out the window (except that I'm at work ... and they might not like that ... and I don't have a window!). Anyway ... I am getting jealous of all the pictures and cute animations people have on their posts... you know ...…

hair texture
Okay, I will try one more time: no one responded to my most recent post on hair! My hair now covers my head, but I hate it because it's really thin. I used to have really thick, beautiful hair that grew very rapidly. I had Taxotere/Cytoxan (4 treatments): the last treatment was on June 20 and my hair didn't start growing…

expanders to implants
I had my expanders removed on April 9th and got the silicone implants. My first couple of days I felt great. I loved shedding those hard rocks just to feel something soft on my chest. My sternum hurt like heck as the surgeon really worked the muscle around the rib/sternum area to try and develop something to resemble…

No surgery.
Surgery was scheduled for Thursday...they had already cut off chemo. Unfortunately, rash appeared over my torso over the weekend..that alone would probably have done the surgery in, even though they think it is only an allergic reaction to one of the medications. However, today, urine sample showed today that I still have…

my friend just went through her first chemo treatment
and she was feeling good for about 4 days, it hit her yesterday hard with the nausea and especially the bad taste that seems to come from deep within and you can't get rid of it. I remember when I was doing the chemo, I first tried strong candy like red hots or lemonheads to try getting rid of the taste. They didn't work,…

I have missed something
I am sorry but I have not been on in a few days. I have missed something for sure. It's about Kourtney. The last post I saw was from her friend saying she had died in the hospital. I spent the whole weekend thinking of her and her family. I was so upset when I read that I have a daughter the same age and I could think…

another thing I had to find out on my own/ER pos. PR neg/significance
Yet another thing no doctor explained to me (Okay, I did not ask, but how would I know to ask?). For some time I have been thinking about the fact that my cancer was considered HIGHLY estrogen positive, but HER2negative and PR negative. Up till now, I thought the PR neg. part was not too important because the most…

Flagged
All messages containing a certain name(s) have been flagged and I am assuming it is from the CSN staff. I don't know exactly why they have all been flagged or what that really means. Maybe someone can tell me and some others on the site might not know what that means either. Thanks, Margo
