Despite my protests onc wrote script for Arimidex
I woke up this morning with swollen eyes, hands and feet. Went to onc this afternoon and he said to call my pcp. Yesterday rheumatologist sent me for ultrasound on leg veins to make sure it wasn't vascular and caused by a blood clot. Anyways, onc said that Arimidex is more effective than Tamoxifen and that I should do…

Question about deodorant/antiperspirants usage
While recuperating from bilateral mastectomy my surgeon wouldn't let me use anything until 8 weeks following surgery and then it had to be only deodorant (no chromium). Does anyone know if at some point I can or should go back to using antiperspirant and can deodorant be worn while getting radiation? Thanks, Char

For those of you that have had a hysterectomy
My oncologist has never said I need to have one but because of the fact that I had Invasive Lobular Carcinoma I discussed having a hysterectomy today with an ob/gyn at the Naval Hospital, he said "yes" I can have it done. My oncologist has never mentioned that if and when ILC comes back it will find it's way to the nether…

This is weird
I went to get my hair cut yesterday. I told my stylist that when I was towel drying my wet head one day that I thought I noticed short hairs popping up...almost like new growth. She parted my hair in several spots and agreed. She said it didn't look like breakage but new growth! So I was baffled...I've been with a full…

Insurance
Hi Ladies, I just have a quick question about scans and insurance. My insurance rejected my oncs request for a PET. I kinda understand that denial. I finished chemo July 16th. Today the oncs office called and said my insurance would only pay for a chest XRay. The said there isn't a basis for any other scans. I know I can…

Is anyone else noticing that this website is being really slow on responding or loading? I click to get a new page or thread, and it says loading for way too long. Sometimes I've just canceled. I'm not having that problem on other websites all over the place, they are normal and fast, I have high speed internet. Is it just…

It's another day in Holland, dear sisters...good morning!
I woke this morning to mist so thick I could barely see out the door. But then, thru the fog, I spied a bit of movement! It was two bunnies running and playing and chasing each other!!!! They could see just fine with each other's help...and safely under the cover of mist from predators always lurking! It rained hard…

bad day and no chemo
I saw a post wanting to know how I am, so here goes. I went to the doctor expecting to get chemo but that did not happen. I have been in pain for over a week now, so i told the doctor today and he did feel that my liver is swollen, so he wants to do a ct and pet scan before he gives me chemo again, so no chemo today. He…

2 Months Off Arimidex - Reaction Rash - Tomorrow will start generic Anastrozole
As a process of elimination, I went off Arimidex on November 5. First, it was to determine if my tingling/numbness in my fingers and hands was caused by Arimidex. After being off it for 2 months, the tingling/numbness never went away, so it is not the result of Arimidex. Next week I will start physical therapy for the neck…

Lost another sister
Just got a call that we lost another sister yesterday. She did not post to this group, she was older than most of us, in her 70's, but a fighter none the less. I feel so sorry for her and her son, she moved to Texas to live with her son from Chicago. She received treatment at the same center where I go until they told her…

Has anyone tried nioxin or bosley hair products to help grow hair
I was curious if anyone has used nioxin or bosley products to help grow hair back? Mine is coming in like peach fuzz and very sparse. I also saw someone post that it is best to shave it again a few times when you start getting peach fuzz and that it will start growing back in thicker. Would appreciate your feedback if you…

Need to vent...I am so..
I am so tired of feeling bad. Chemo changes your body. For me it feels as though my body is no longer my own and dammit I want my body back. My last chemo was 2 weeks ago a total of 16 treatments. I am tired of nausea, vomiting, constipation, hypersensitivity to smells, and bad tastes that linger in your mouth. Now the next…
