4 hours to go..........and my life changes forever.
It's 3:30 in the morning and I have to be at the hospital at 8:00 am to start the process for my mastectomy. Nuclear medicine first, then on to the OR. I have no clue what my stage is, what comes after this. I'm feeling very alone. Something a friend sent me recently says "Grieve, cry, and move on. The only person who is…

Wish I had better news :(
Well, my PET scan revealed why I'm in so much pain and my tumor markers are on the rise :( The Xeloda that I've been taking for 6 months has not been working. My cancer has spread from two areas of my spine into three more areas, back into my lymph nodes, including my supraclavicular node, and into my hip :( The news was…

Update: Graduated to Annual Mammograms!!!
I met up with my oncologist on Tues., July 19, and was told I will have annual mammograms, no MRI's, and will be seen semi-annually! I was so relieved. He did highly recommend I continue exercising. That is a given as I am committed to keeping my Temple( Mind, Body, Soul) Strong! Take care, God bless to all.

Frustration and starfish
Hi everyone, we had so much bad news lately on this board and I can see how that may get a little frustrating at times. And some feel overwhelmed and feel they need to stay away. Here are two things that help me get things back into perspective. 1) The way I was welcomed and guided through my journey when I first stumbled…

How to Live Fovever
I met a fairy today that would grant me one wish. "I want to live forever," I said. "Sorry" said the fairy, "I'm not allowed to grant wishes like that!" "Fine," I said, "Then I want to die after Congress gets their heads out of their ****!" "You crafty ****," said the fairy.

Surgery, Radiation, and Frustration
Up until today everything was 80% fine. I am in remission and I have started plans of eventually paying off our bills. I may need some sort of financial counseling in my future to have a concrete plan of attack but medically all everyone seems to be doing is adding not subtracting. I started getting a handle on what things…

Good Things Happen When You Travel On The Pink Bus~ Thank You, Kindreds!
Home at last~ I was a very good patient! The IV didn't want to drip very quickly, so it took a long time for the Nuclear meds to infuse~ but the person who did the actual PET scan was so nice to me! He wrapped me up in a warm blanket, and actually told me I was soooo cute! HA~ that made me laugh out loud~I was so relaxed…

Mammo Monday
(Didn't mean to rhyme!) This is the first mammo since my right mastectomy in December. That breast is clear per teh PET scan in Feb. but there's a "nodule" on the left that they want to watch. They don't think it's anything to worry about but want to keep an eye on it. Is the pink bus available? Could really use some moral…
