After waiting the 6 months post radiation and a cross country move just to mess things up a bit, I am FINALLY scheduled for my reconstruction on 9/2...1 year and 1 week after my mastectomy (and 18 months after all of this nonsense started)!!!!!

    Just think, your body should be in good shape for the surgery! You will be all better in time to start the holiday madness!!

    Hi Dana,

    One more step on the road to being "normal." Yay. I just had my reconstruction surgery a month ago 6/13/2011. I had a breast reduction on the left (non-cancer) side and had my tissue expander replaced with an implant on the right (mastectomy) side. Good luck.

    It really helps to see something back on your chest after all this. I'm looking forward to having my girls 'tweaked' and then getting nips/tattoos and THEN BEING DONE!!!

    Feels good...
    It feels great to just keep moving. Once you have things scheduled, you are taking full control of the situation. I am glad this will be over soon for you. Everything will go well.
