Cancer Target: Mesothelin
Mesothelin is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored cell surface glycoprotein. Its biological function has not yet been clarified, but due to its limited distribution in normal tissues and high expression in some tumor tissues, it is expected to be used in tumor-specific treatment. In existing studies of human…

Radiation proctitis
I had a hysterectomy in 2003, a recurrence in 2004 that required chemo and radiation, internal and external. Radiation proctitis is a result of the radiation burning the lining in the rectum since the rectum and vagina are so close. It is extremely painful. I am presently using Canasa suppositories and they only help…

Clinical trials my recurrence
Has anyone gone thru a clinical trial for their cancer. My doctors seem to feel this may be a good option for me since my cancer returned in the middle of my chemo cycles. But I hear there may be some unexpected costs with entering a clinical trial even though I have pretty good insurance. Has anyone experienced some…

New to board: stage 1B vulvar cancer
This has been a strange journey for me. I guess my story is more of a cautionary tale: if something doesn't look or feel quite right, get it checked out sooner rather than later. I was diagnosed with vulvar cancer in September of this year, after complaining of increasingly excruciating pain. I had felt the strange little…

Cervical Cancer, Just had a RH to remove all reproductive organs & lymph nodes
I'm new here. I think this is the club nobody wants to join. (but I'm still glad to be here.) I was diagnosed with invasive cervical cancer very suddenly.
