off Orgovyx
I took my last Orgovyx pill last Saturday the 20th. As of last night the 25th I am already feeling a little regaining of energy and some strength. I did 60 pushups in a row and 2 weeks ago barely did 30. I have not been doing them daily just as a test. Also, only 12 hot flashes since yesterday morning. It appears once you…

What to expect with no treatment
Hi all. I have a biopsy coming up but, unlike most, I'm not interested in finding out what kind of treatment I may qualify for (frankly, they all sound absolutely terrible) but, rather, how much time I have left. All my friends have already passed on so it's pretty much just me alone at this point so no real desire to put…

Focal Cryo Therapy for initial treatment
After months of indecision, I just sent a note to my doctor at Fox Chase to ask him to schedule me for focal cryotherapy procedure. So far, it seems for primary treatments of Pca, focal treatments are typically only applicable to some men who qualify with in-gland non metastasized low to intermediate grade cancer. The…

A newer phase in my Systemic treatment now with metastasis in bone
To all in this forum and particularly the old members that have help me along the years in understanding facts on PCa issues based to their experiences, or suggestions to my case. It has been 18 months since I dropped a post in the forum (July 2022). I felt that I have failed those that were used in receiving my prompt…

Catheter removal
so anyway, I went to my general practitioner to have the catheter removed. He pulled out all the saline in the balloon, and then literally grabbed it and yanked it out. I have to admit it really hurt about the last inch at the tip of my penis and now it has been two weeks and the tip of my penis inside still hurts about an…

PET scan on 4/19/24 showed cancer is on left side of prostate only has not spread. No symptons aside from PSA level 4.3 and get up pee 1 or twice at night. I am…

wondering about finasteride
Hi all! I'm new to the board as I have been recently diagnosed with a gleason score of 3+3=6. I feel very blessed that it is such a low grade, and at this point have decided on active surveillance. My doctor also put me on Finasteride. I didn't think much of it at the time, but after doing some research, I'm questioning if…

Surgery or radiation therapy
I have listened to and read quite a bit. I am trying to decide between surgery and a radiation plan. My cancer is considered treatable by my Dr’s. Any opinions on this broad question between the two? Thank you.

Pluvicto
I just finished first of six Pluvicto treatments. Out of isolation and haven't noticed any real bad side effects (yet). I recently finished a clinical study with Xtandi and a part inhibitor. PSA was 115 at beginning, went down ton3.2 then trended upwards. Doctor immediately got me on Pluvicto so we'll see how it goes. I…

Upcoming robotic RP - Dr. Vipul Patel - need post op ideas on supplies
On May 5th I have an RP scheduled w Dr. Vipul Patel. Been watching it for 4 years after it hit 5 ng/ml. Hovered around 7, then rose to 15. 4KPSA 50.1 MRI guided biopsy 6/10 cores positive. I worked in a hospital lab for 25 years and used to batch run PSAs years ago and would get that result and think "that poor SOB" - and…

Tumor Size Question
My MRI results from last October (below) mention lesion in right mid gland with a measurement of 1.9 x 1.0 x .09 cm. I'm assuming this is the size of my tumor? Is this a length / width / and height measurement of the tumor? If so, is that considered a smaller or larger tumor? Can anyone help me understand this better?…

Advanced Cancer and waiting...
I've been watching my score go up this year (surgery early 2010 and salvage late 2015). My PSA is now .310 up from a .207 in March and .210 in July...I continue with a good and mostly plant base diet, which I believe has helped me over the years (outcome could have been aggressive but it hasn’t to date). Some days I hate…

On_A_Journey's journey
PART ONE Hello all, I joined this forum recently, asked some questions and made some comments, but until now I’ve only given a brief description of what brought me here. I will treat this thread as my own personal blog by telling my story and providing any updates as they happen. I am 59 and from Australia. I have a strong…

Salvage surgery path report update
Things are going as planned I am leaking a bit, but not a big deal. Waited for The doctor to call me to go over the report. He told me the report was good margins were clear cancer was embedded in the prostate. But my curiosity got the better of me and I looked at the report. Was not happy that he only took out one lymph…

PSA velocity, what am I looking at here?
PSA last year was 2.0, and this past December was 5.78. The urologist ordered a 4k test: score 59, 10% free PSA, and my PSA was almost 12. That is a vast PSA increase in just 3 months. Going to Johns Hopkins now. MRI on 4/12 and biopsy to follow. I did have an abdominal/ pelvis CT done for possible diverticulitis a month…

January 2024 Check-up
I had my 3 month checkup today, and the good news is that my PSA is still undetectable, but my Testosterone has only risen to 26. But, by far, the most important test result is that my PSA is still undetectable. Life is good. My Related History and Data: Post-Robotic Prostate Removal Surgery Pathology Report A. Lymph…

Confused after MRI
I know I am in the early stages of possible PCA diagnosis as my biopsy is scheduled on 4/23. But I am really blindsided by this. I am 52 years old. I have absolutely no symptoms other then noticing some possible ED over the past year. My doctor ordered PSA test in on 2/20 and it came back as 14.97 and another test was…

Lupron - living with the side effects
I am 76 and underwent 28 radiation treatments last summer - after starting on Lupron androgen deprivation therapy. I have had two (6 month) Lupron shots with the third (and last) scheduled for early April this year. My urologist and radiation oncologist both felt I was too old for surgery and that the radiation/ADT was the…

psa 4 months after radiation and 6 months into Orgovyx
Had PSA last Thursday to see progress of treatment and appears to have went well. PSA <.006. I finish my 6 months of HT via Orgovyx on Friday and then wait and see if anything comes back. HT was not horrible . Some side effects but nothing life altering. Thanking God for my progress.

ADT Side Effects & Different ADT Drugs
My brother-in-law has recurrent prostate cancer (he was originally diagnosed with stage 4a) and his oncologist wants him back on ADT drug he took for 2 years. Thing is the side effects were horrendous. From what I've read (NCI, ACS, etc.), side effects can vary some between the various ADT drugs. His oncologist said they…

My story and looking for questions in preparation for surgeon consultation
My doctor has been monitoring my PSA for several years, thankfully. The last several years PSA readings have been relatively stable 3.096, 3.166, 4.231 , 3.826, … then 5.4. The reading of 3.86 was accompanied by a free PSA % of 13. And the free PSA % was the first alert that I need further examination. So off to the…

Salvage update
well, they said surgery went extremely well a little under three hours. They actually were able to spare the nerves. Will go home tomorrow. I already did some walking and now dinner is coming. Thanks for all the support. I will be in touch.

Psa test freq following RT
I just finished post-RP salvage RT in January. My first PSA was about 3 weeks ago at 0.13 vs. 0.20 when RT was started. Post RP pathology rated me at a 3+4 Gleason with a few mm of positive margin and some perineural invasion. They have me scheduled for next psa in 6 months on basis that post RT the PSA should move real…

Stage 4 confusion about treatment/results
I am a little confused about treatment and what they can and can't do. Starting out it was made clear Stage 4 Prostate Cancer is not curable, but I could live for some number of years with it depending on how I respond to treatment. I accepted that but the more I learn the less I understand. My chemo if successful is…

Post-Radical Prostatectomy Pathology Results
I'm 4 weeks out from a radical prostatectomy and just received my post-surgery pathology report and it's indicating that cancer's a bit more advanced than pre-op biopsy/pathology/scans/etc. indicated.
