Positive News
This board has been a lifeline for me - which doesn't stop me from flipping out every second. My oncologist has the personality of a rock and I haven't gotten as much infomation out of her, but did have a long talk today with her fellow, which some of you may find useful. She told me that (1) they rarely-to-never see lung…

Maybe a recurrence
Hi, Has anyone else in this group had a recurrence to the lungs? My CA 125 has been going up for the last 4 months and has now doubled from 49 to 99 and they found 4 nodules in both lungs on my last cat scan the end of Sept. I see the Dr. on Tues but I want to know if it is my lungs do I still keep my wonderful Dr. or do I…

Re: Second Update on Reoccurrence
Hi Ladies: I saw my oncologist this morning. Rather than trying chemo right now, my oncologist recommended he wants me to take medication called Tamoxifen. It is also used to help with breast cancer as well and is used to treat uterine or endometrial cancer which I have. Anyway, he said the medication works for 1 out of 3…

Are there any chemo ports that do not have any acivity restrictions after being put in or that I can recover from in a weekend? If I miss any more work or end up on limited duty, I'll lose my job and medical insurance... Thanx!

Chemo and Blood Clot
Anyone here ever get a blood clot during chemo. I did and I'm not even finished with round 2. I had no idea blood clots could be a side affect. The ironic thing is I went ER for intestinal issues. Kudos to the ER Dr. Anyway, I now need 2 injections of blood thinners a day through chemo.

Last may I began having vaginal itching and had slight bleeding. Went to nurse practitioner. Had abrasions and cervicitis due to vaginal atrophy. I'm 58 btw. Postmenopausal 2 years. Performed tvu but due to a very large fibroid that I've had for 20+ years (measured 14 x 14 x 11 on tvu) it was impossible to see lining…

Hello I was wondering if everyone/anyone who has had carbo/taxol was required to take dexamethasone (steroid) before each treatment? I had a reaction to the steroid when they gave it to me with the cisplatin, (they said it was for my chronic nauseau) and my heart almost exploded out of my chest...I refused to take it…

Immunotherapy
I was just put on the megace and tamoxifen regimen. In one week, the intense pain in my pelvis and radiating out to my legs, affecting my walking and sleeping, is all but gone. I am really surprised, and super glad I went to Boston for that second opinion. He saved me from repeating the taxol carboplatin that would have…

Lymph Nodes and Chemo?
Hello good friends, I'm having surgery in 6 days and had my pre-op today. As usual, my oncologist failed to develop different scenarios ("we won't know until we get in there"), so I don't know what to expect. I'm having a total hyster (ovaries et al), pelvic & para-aortic lymphadenopathy and possible omentecomy. I have…

I will be on Medicare as of the 1st of Dec. I have A&B and have a perscription Plan D in place. What I need is a "gap"plan. I have looked so much my head spins! Any suggestions? I'm looking at AARP just because they are familier to me and the plan "F" will cover all of the 20% A & B except 2,800.00. It is supposed to cost…

Another recurrence
I was diagnosed with serous uterine carcinoma in 2012 when I had a complete hysterectomy and because the pathology report came back with no involvement anywhere but within my uterus, my oncologist and I opted for a plan where I would get CT scans every 3 months And no chemo. 2 years later it was back as a 1.2 cm. Spot on…

Hello, I wanted to introduce myself. I just got back from my post op appt with my obgyn onc from my complete hysterectomy. I will do the six sessions of chemo…

PAP identifying uterine cancer-Your opinions please
So ladies, I want your opinions. I started spotting in January of 2016. The previous November, I had been to my GYN for my annual visit and got the all clear. Diagnosed with Uterine Clear Cell (UCC) with Serous (USPC)
Hi All, unfortunately I am diagnosed with UCC and USPC. It took five months to get my doctors to tell me the exact medical term so research was weak. I found out on March 30 2016 that I had cancer. I started bleeding that led to a check up. Then the horrible news that no one is ever prepared for. The only thing I don't…

So i made it through my first day of work. Thank goodness my boss let me sit down a couple of times. I was a little nervous of that. It sounds like the gentleman that highered me told my new boss and she must have told her lead cook about my cancer. Im not sure how i feel about that but I was glad to some extent so they…

Risk factors uterine cancer
It is with great sadness that Gwen Ifill, noted political correspondent and PBS news anchor has lost her fight against uterine cancer today. Of note she never had been pregnant which is a risk factor for uterine cancer. I loved and admired her as such an amazing woman in her work and courage.
