Maybe a recurrence

Hi, Has anyone else in this group had a recurrence to the lungs?  My CA 125 has been going up for the last 4 months and has now doubled from 49 to 99 and they found 4 nodules in both lungs on my last cat scan the end of Sept. I see the Dr. on Tues but I want to know if it is my lungs do I still keep my wonderful Dr. or do I have to change to a lung DR.  or do I keep both.  I was NED since Oct 2014. I guess the chemo worked the first time but I wonder if they will use the same kind.  I had taxol/carbo. The bone pain was really bad the first time since I also have RA. I am 75 years young and will fight it as hard as I can.  Sue

Sue, I don't have any answers

Sue, I don't have any answers for you either but wanted to also reach out a let you know I'm thinking about you!

I hope you can keep your same doctor since it sounds like you are very happy with them.

Don't they have some immunotherapy trials going for lung mets? Or, maybe it is pure lung cancer? It would be so nice to see more of our ladies use this instead of chemo where it makes sense.... Especially when it seems to be effective for some.

Please come back and let us know what the doctor says...

    Love and Hugs,

    Cindi

    Sue, so very sorry

not the news anyone wants to hear.  I have not had mets to my lungs, I have had them in other places.  My neck, between my intestines, on my liver , near my heart and a very other places.  I was told when I had the first recurrence that they could use the same chemo again if it had been longer than 6 months, since it had been seven they went ahead with the Taxol/ Carbo treatment plan again.  It still worked, but after awhile, I started having problems with it.

i hope you can keep the same, doctor.  It is so important to have one you like and, trust.

    Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann

    Lung metastasis

I am so sorry to hear of the new spots on your lungs. I think that you will keep your same oncologist because likely it is your primary cancer (uterine or ovarian) that has developed in your lungs. It sounds like you would like to keep seeing the same oncologist....I think you will. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you continue to fight  this ugly disease!  Keep us posted on your progress. Lori

     Hi, thank you for your

Hi, thank you for your concern. My ENT Dr also just found a lymph node on the side of my head  that I have had for 2 months. I had a ultra sound today and she wants to take it out and see if it is cancer.   I see my oncologist on Tues afternoon and see what the next step will be. Yikes 4 nodes in the lung and a lymph node on the side of my head.   What next.  Has anyone else ever had lymph nodes somewhere that high in the body that came from the MMMT uterine cancer.

    My mom has lung nodules

my mom was diagnosed in  march 2016 with mostly endometrioud cancer (all endometriod according to her oncologist ) but had pathology sent to Mayo Clinic and they found the tiniest amount of serous. On her preop cat scan in March she had multiple lung nodules. besides that her post op pathology was totally negative. No lymph nodes, pelvic wash clean, omentum  removed etc. all negative. So my doctor actually said the cancer was removed in  the polyp that showed that small Amt of serous. So he was stumped about these Lung nodules. A biopsy was done on one of them and it was negative. So now she has had two ct scans since and the nodules haven't grown. Very reassuring. Also she had a pet scan and only one nodule lit up and pulmonologist said it had very minimal uptake. Sort of a mystery but needless to say she feels great and is living. She is on metformin for diabetes.her pulmoncologist just told her she doesn't need a cat scan for 6 months  wahoo!!!!  My guess is you will be referred to a pulmonologist. how r u Feeling?  short of breath? Cough?  Hope it is nothing. R u having a lung biopsy?  My mom is 70 and otherwise in good health. Thinking of you

    Doctor

Ps. if it is cancer then depending on the type I would guess would determine the treating doctor.

So very sorry to hear this

So very sorry to hear this news, Sue. The lymphatic system is connected all throughout the body (look at the images section in Google for a clearer picture) so it doesn't seem too odd for an MMMT cancer cell to travel up to a lymph node in your head. Your doctors will certainly put a good plan in place to beat back this beast again. Hang in there and let us know how your appointment goes today. Kim

Hi, I am going for a ct scan of the 4 nodules in my lungs on the 25th and for a biopsy of the lymph node on the side of my head on the 28th. I will know more after then.  The waiting is the worst. Thanks to all of you for your concern.

Glad to hear you have some tests scheduled that can hopefully give you some answers. Rest assurred that we will be praying for and thinking of you as you get your scan and biopsy and wait for results.  It is so hard not to worry but worrying doesn't change anything and robs us of our joy today.  (((HUGS)))

Hi, again. I now have to have

Hi, again. I now have to have a broncosopy to do a lung biospy since 2 of the 4 nodules have doubled. I see the Thoracic surgeon on Dec. 5th to get a date. My Dr. said that they think it is a recurrence. It could be from the MMMT uterine cancer or the lobular breast cancer since they both like the lungs.  YUK   I had a lymph node on the side of my head biopsed on Nov. 28th and will be waiting for the results. It might be from one of the cancers or from Sjogrens or from skin cancer on my face that I had to have Mohs done twice.     Boy am I lucky. The Dr. said that I am soooo special. I was checked for Lynch and I didn't have it but they say that I might have gotten all of these cancers because my grandparents were Ashkenazi Jews and came from Europe. Has anyone had a recurrence to the lungs and if so what was the treatment.   Thanks to all of you for being so helpful.  Sue

    Hi there Sue,

Wow- you are special and lucky!  I'm glad you and your Dr. are keeping a good sense of humor.  All that said, I am so sorry that they think it's recurrence but glad you are on top of it so you can know which way to go.  We certainly do not understand the "why" but we do know "who" has the answers and is in control.  Prayers and BLESSINGS- you are not alone and I'm sending big ole (((HUGS))) for you <3<3

    lung nodules

Hi Sue- Just wanted to say my mom had breast cancer and serous uterine diagnosed in March...her chest xray showed nodules so a CT scan was done and that too showed the same nodules....they went ahead with the hysterectomy (abd and the whole works).  One pulmonologist was certain this was metastatic disease but like you she had breast cancer 20 years before and they couldn't rule out if it was metastatic breast or uterine.....(treatments would be different).  So they did a CT guided lung biopsy which showed benign....pulmono.ogist didn't believe it.  She got a second opinion and this pulmonologist felt it could indeed be benign due to round edges and the looks of it....so he followed it with a 3 month CT scan in June....very little to no growth....another CT scan in October....no growth.....so my point is doctors aren't always right....Yes yours did double but nodules can double and it not be cancer.  Will be praying for you.

Hi again,  I got the results

Hi again,  I got the results of the lymph node on the side of my head.  It was positive for Breast Cancer that I had 4 1/2 years ago in 2012. I had the breast removed and didn't have to have chemo. I got MMMT uterine cancer in 2014 and did chemo and internal radiation.  They want me to have a bronscosopy if they can do it. The nodes are close to the windpipe. Has anyone had both cancers in the same time.    I am waiting for a call to see if they can do the broncosopy. Thanks for all of your support.  This waiting is the hard part.

    Darn it, Sue

its just not fair.  I hope that things can move on quickly so you can get past the waiting and uncertainty and on to treatment.
