Microscopic Colitis (aka not all that runs is radiation)
We have lots of symptoms we have to live with after treatment, and doctors don't always get it or believe it's treatment related, or sometimes don't believe or suspect that it *isn't* treatment related. I found this guideline from the UK (so not all tests translate to the USA or other countries), but I thought it was so…

FDA: Robotic surgery "unapproved" for cancer
I'd posted a link to some research published last fall that cast doubt on the wisdom of robotic hysterectomy from a cancer spread / survival length point of view. I think that link got lost in the hacking/crashi this site had a few weeks back. But apparently the FDA had similar concerns about that research: "Patients and…

I declined last dose of Taxol due to beginning of neuropathy in feet
Saw my oncologist today before 6th round of carbo/taxol/herceptin tomorrow. Based upon the beginnings of neuropathy in my feet, and my fear that it would get a lot worse with a subsequent dose of taxol, I had to choose between full dose taxol, 60% dose of taxol, or no taxol. I chose no taxol. I'm pretty worried, because so…

feeling hopeful
Sharing a hopeful thing. I finished my last round of chemo this past Friday. Still recovering from that, but this time I can keep on recovering, my treatments were 3 weeks apart. Funny that the thing I am most excited about right now is that I do not have to go for weekly blood tests anymore! WooHoo! I have a check up in 3…

Chemo hair loss
I was wondering if there's anyone out there that has had Taxol/Carbo that hasn't lost their hair? I know that's one of the main side effects of Taxol but I thought that maybe there was someone who had beat the odds. I'm resigned to losing my hair and it's due any time now. Does it fall out all at once? Or does it take a…

I posted about this earlier, that I had developed a little bit of neuropathy in my left foot after 5th round of carbo/taxol/herceptin. I have some numbness on the bottom of the ball of my foot, and one night had 3 sharp stabbing sensations in my big toe over about a ten minute period of time, none since. My oncologist is…

Discharge 7 weeks post brachy
I’m back again with the same issue. My vaginal cuff tore a little bit back at the end of December. As a result I was having a lot of tanish yellowish watery discharge. I was seen by the radiation oncologist that confirmed it was as a result of the cuff. ok, the discharge has significantly gotten better. However, I still…

Year later moving backwards.
i finished radiation last February and have very slowly regained some of my strength and health. However in the past month my health has taken a turn for the worse. I feel almost as bad as I did during treatment. The pain has become worse and my energy is lapsing again. Is it normal to fall back a year later?

Waiting biopsy results
I am 9 days post hysteroscopy and I am waiting for my biopsy results. It's the start of a 3-day weekend which means I probably won't learn anything until Tuesday at the earliest. I have researched that based on my symptoms I probably have a 10 to 15% chance of being diagnosed with endometrial cancer. I also know that that…

What does neuropathy feel like? Could this be it?
Zsazsa the Ice Queen needs to know if this could be the beginnings of neuropathy. I had treatment 5 of Carbo/Taxol/Herceptin a little over a week ago. About 16 yrs ago, I had a nerve taken out of my left foot, between the 3rd and 4th toes, because I had a chronically inflamed neuroma from compression. After the 4th…

Second opinion
I went ahead and had a second opinion yesterday with a medical gyn onc at the other major medical center in town. Before the visit, she reviewed all my records and also went over my scans with the radiologist at her institution. She felt that it would be reasonable to do a post treatment CT sacan, and then scans every 6…

Restoration of Lost Posts
I've restored as much of the content from the posts that were lost during the CSN data outage from 10/29/18 to 1/30/19 as I was able to find online in cached web pages. In some instances, I added the content to topics that existed before the data loss, but in most cases I created new discussion threads. I included the user…
