MRIs and UTIs
So I really haven't posted for awhile. Anyway, after my major surgeries in April and June of 2018, I am still in the scan every 3 months phase. However, my MRI at the end of July I had a reaction to the "breeza" (Not the IV contrast) but the stuff you drink. Right after I was done with my MRI, I had immediately diarrhea.…

I was approved for disability on the first try.
I cannot find the old thread, but I was approved for disability. My old profile was deleted in the recent website crash, and I cannot figure out how to load a new one. I have UPSC/clear cell, initially staged as Ia, but I also had isolated tumor cells in one of the two sentinel nodes that they sampled, and was restaged as…

That didn't last long
I thought I would have longer than a couple of months to celebrate my last CT scan being clear and my CA 125 at 9. Not long after getting the good news back in December, I started having abdominal swelling and discomfort. I had a CT scan which showed fluid indicating my cancer is back, my CA 125 also went up to 356. My gyn…

just sad
Im having a down day and I am sad that no one on here has responded to my last post. I am done with chemo and I know I should be happy about that, and I am. But I am just so weak. I can't walk very well. We are dealing with a lot of deep icy snow and I have an ankle injury so those things don't help, but i wish I had some…

Daily Light yellow discharge
I’m still having light yellow discharge everyday. My cuff reopened in December and the discharge was tanish and enough to fill a panty liner. Well, it’s a lot better now since the cuff closed. However, after intercourse I get a lot of fluid come out of me for several hours. once it was mixed with a bit of blood. I took a…

Thank you
I read today of the passing of LadyMoxx. She was diagnosed around the same time I was and similar in age (a few years older). It certainly made me pause and take stock in how lucky I am. Thank you to all of you. There‘s no way to express how much your support has meant to me. It truly got me through some very dark moments.

Don't hate me but insurance companies aren't to blame.
Fighting any disease is expensive, with the new drugs costing $25,000 per treatment, it's simply not going to happen for most of us. I hate to say that we are denied treatment simply because it's too expensive, but that fact is, how best to spend insurance dollars? Do we help a few with whatever it costs, regardless of…

CT scan ... up and down.
I'm getting a little tired of the down part of this journey. It seems my results are great one month, concerning the next. This is a cut and paste from the other group I frequent ... sorry. A few edits, though. I'm also getting tired of radiologists. It really makes sense to have just one or two looking at patient scans…

Tan discharge 5 months post hysterectomy (Recap of Lost Posts, Topic Created by Denise66 on Dec 27,
This recap includes posts that were lost during CSN's data outage from 10/29/18 to 1/30/19. Denise66 Dec 27, 2018 - 6:03 pm I’m 5 months post hysterectomy. I was put in surgical menopause. I had 3 rounds of Brachy which finished early November. After the Brachy, I felt really sore. I had my follow up with the oncologist NP…

Poor balance
I have just finished chemo, very happy about that. My problem now is my lack of balance. It doesn't help that I have an ankle injury, but I can't hardly walk a straight line, and I could fall over at any time! I am wondering how long it might take to kind of get back to normal? Also, I was in the grocery sore the other day…

New to this board - Uterine polyps found
Hello, I am new to this board, but not this site. My husband passed away from head and neck cancer two years ago and I have thyroid cancer. Doing tests a year after my thyroid had been removed and I had undergone radiation, my tumor marker bloodwork was elevated. I then underwent several tests, one being a PET scan. My…

Seams in clothing are bothering abdominal skin
Ever since my hysterectomy (a year ago) and chemo (ended 6 months ago), the skin on my abdomen has been hypersensitive to the rubbing from seams in underpants, the back of the metal button in the waist of my jeans, and spots the seams on pant waists touch my skin directly. It's so annoying I actually started wearing…

speaking of one of the lovely ladies I am worried about, it would be survivngsu. She hasn't been on since August 2018 and I hope she is doing ok.

It's just what WOULD happen!
A minor but poorly-timed indignity that some of you might be able to relate to. I have just completed 6 rounds of Carbo/Taxol/Herceptin. I am completely bald, with barely perceptible eyebrows, and I think no eyelashes. Despite having felt so sick during chemo, I actually GAINED a bit, just as my oncologist said I would,…

Loretta Marshall
For any of you who visit the other gyn cancer boards here on CSN, and I know some of you do, you would have met the incomparable Miss Loretta Marshall. She is truly one of the many angels who have graced this earth. Loretta is signing off, and I wanted to share her post with those who might not know her. I pray that…

Long term neuropathy

What was your Ca-125 by the end of chemo?
I'm about to have round 6 of carbo/taxol/herceptin next week. My Ca-125 was I think in the single digits a few years ago, was about 35 at the time of diagnosis with UPSC/clear cell stage Ia with isolated cells in a sentinel node, or a IIIc1 if they read that node as positive. It went up further after surgery in early…

Let's do a roll call!
It's been awhile since we've done a roll call and we have a lot of new ladies. Name or Nickname: Type of Cancer: Grade & Stage: Date of Diagnosis: Treatment: Where Treated: Outcome: Anything Else: I'll go first! Name or Nickname: Eldri Type of Cancer: UPSC Grade & Stage: Stage II (oncologist's best guess), Grade 3 Date of…

Recurrence MMMT after chemo treatment. What´s next?Apparently nothing
Dear warriors, I wrote a post to thank you for your support and all the information you passed me but the outage has deleted everything, including my initial post telling my mum´s story. Just for those who did not read it I am going to summarize the situation: my mother, 73, had an anal tumor 8 years ago (treated with…

CT Scan
I have just finished my 6 rounds of chemo. I was stage 1A and grade 3 for clear cell. Had a CT Scan a few days ago. I have a couple of tiny lung spots but they are not new and not related to my uterine cancer. (Biopsy done) I had a CT right before the hysterectomy and now this one. Everything is now looking normal so I am…

Sort of good news
Ok so the PET scan report was released to my patient portal and the little beasts are responding to the everolimus. Still have some active disease in the lungs but the other lesions in my bones, lymph nodes have less FDG SUV uptake thingy!! There was no discussion of activity in my ribs and some other bone areas so I take…

Wondering if anyone else experienced necrosis After radiation
i had chemoradiation for 28 sessions before I started my carbo/taxol chemo. As it turns out I ended up with a complication from the radiation - necrosis In the tumor that got the radiation. It's been very uncomfortable and almost worst then the side effects of the chemo. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

My Recurrence Story
Although I still visit this site, I haven't posted much because I didn't feel that I had a lot to add since my Gyne-Oncologist said that my "garden variety" cancer was caught early and I wouldn't need to have further treatment other than surgery. That was October 2014. Today, I met with my new Gyne-Oncologist (this was…

Anyone who had chemo AND external beam? Long term side effects?
I'm having trouble making a decision between vag brachy and external beam to pelvis. I have UPSC/clear cell, which was in the upper end of the uterus and isolated cells found in one of two sentinel nodes. Wash and omental biopsy negative, no gross evidence of disease, no other nodes sampled. I was originally read as a Ia,…

Microscopic Colitis (aka not all that runs is radiation)
We have lots of symptoms we have to live with after treatment, and doctors don't always get it or believe it's treatment related, or sometimes don't believe or suspect that it *isn't* treatment related. I found this guideline from the UK (so not all tests translate to the USA or other countries), but I thought it was so…

FDA: Robotic surgery "unapproved" for cancer
I'd posted a link to some research published last fall that cast doubt on the wisdom of robotic hysterectomy from a cancer spread / survival length point of view. I think that link got lost in the hacking/crashi this site had a few weeks back. But apparently the FDA had similar concerns about that research: "Patients and…

I declined last dose of Taxol due to beginning of neuropathy in feet
Saw my oncologist today before 6th round of carbo/taxol/herceptin tomorrow. Based upon the beginnings of neuropathy in my feet, and my fear that it would get a lot worse with a subsequent dose of taxol, I had to choose between full dose taxol, 60% dose of taxol, or no taxol. I chose no taxol. I'm pretty worried, because so…

feeling hopeful
Sharing a hopeful thing. I finished my last round of chemo this past Friday. Still recovering from that, but this time I can keep on recovering, my treatments were 3 weeks apart. Funny that the thing I am most excited about right now is that I do not have to go for weekly blood tests anymore! WooHoo! I have a check up in 3…
