Reoccurence
I happily posted last December that I was five years cancer free following treatment and then out of the blue the cancer is back. UPSC is certainly sneaky. I was having severe lower abdominal pain last week that I thought might be diverticulitis but no the only thing they found on the CT scan were enlarged pelvic lymph…

3 Years NED with Uterine Carcinosarcoma (MMMT)
I'm conflicted in posting this. On the one hand I know how important it was for me when I was first diagnosed to learn that some women with my type/stage of cancer (Stage 3B, Grade 3 uterine carcinosarcoma or MMMT) did survive longer than the typical statistics. On the other hand, I feel so badly for those women who…

Medicare Drug Plans
With the change period on the horizon I'm starting to think about drug plans. I have traditional Medicare and plan F for my supplement which I chose at the time because of my cancer background. My drug plan did well for the couple meds I'm on. But now with the recurrence things have definitely changed. Have any of you…

Checking in and saying "Hello!"
Hi Everyone: Sending you all hugs! Its been a few months since I check in. I'm hanging in there. I have a scan coming up in November. However, my work changed our insurance in September so now none of my cancer doctors or centers is covered. One good thing is that my doctor who left in April of this year and went into a…

Thank you for all your comforting words
Thank you for everyone thinking of me during this most difficult time in my life. Tears are running down my face as I read your responses and all the love and care and heartfelt emotions that you were giving to me. I can't even tell you how much that meant to me. My husband ended up with double sepis after a failed…

YAY! Port removal.
Had my port removed one week ago today. Everything went well. I finished treatment in March of 2019. All is well. Now, if only this damn virus would go away, I want to travel.

So... I checked my portal...
And the bloody beast is back. :( Iys in my abdominal wall/muscles, and there is a bit of both peritoneal carcinomatosis and a small amount of asctis... CA125 was 32 4 months ago. Now it's 600 :O Firwt though was... I'm gonna die. That peritoneal carcinomatosis is not so good though. Right? That part killed you in the old…

What do you do during infusions?
If you're icing your hands and feet, what do you do to pass time? I understand there's a few hours of this. The first time I would probably be too worried, thinking and overthinking, worrying about reactions. But when you're not doing this, how do you cope with inactivity?

hip and leg pain after chemo
I finished 6 rounds of chemo April 5, 2012. A week later I began to feel pain all over and now it is getting worse. Especially in my hips, buttocks and knees. I thought it was because I hadn't worked out, but the pain is waking me in the middle of the night. Even my hands hurt to make a fist. Is anyone going through this?…

VAT assisted lung biopsy
Hi all. Hope you are all doing well in these crazy times. I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer last year; grade was 3 so I had a hysterectomy really fast on April 15. I was staged 1A. The pre-operative scans revealed 2 lung nodules (stable at 3mm each up till now), but also a section that is 0.9cm of ground-glass…

Glad to see the Discussion Board is up and running. I missed all you ladies. Well, today is Keytruda infusion #2 for the 30 minute infusion. Blood work was yesterday and I was expecting WBC, RBC, and hemaglobin to all be down but surprisingly all were actually up and all in normal range. great! Started Day 1 with 2 pills…

CA125 continues to rise even though chemo is working
Hello Ladies, Hoping to get some insight from you all regarding CA125. My mom received the great news that her cancer (recurrent UPSC) is shrinking and the chemo is doing it's job. Pet Scan (after 3 sessions carbo/taxol) shows decrease in size and decrease in metabolic activity in the lymph nodes and improvement in the…

Recurrence
Hi all, It's been awhile since I updated but I do read your posts and keep you all in my prayers. july 9 I had a sigmoidectomy for diverticulosis and had unexpected results. 2 Masses were found along with cancer in my abdomen. Big surprise because I had 3 ct scans and a pet scan that showed nothing. i currently have a…

Let the games begin....
This morning I started my new therapy of afinitor and Letrozole. I have to admit, I thought I was so ready until I tried to cram that big pill into a mini marshmallow! The steroid mouth rinse ( of which I am to do 4 times a day to prevent ulcers) wasn't so bad but 2 minutes is a long time to rinse! Praying for limited side…

Radiation Gastroenteritis
Hello, all. I'm hoping to get some hints on my diet. I finished my treatments in 2018, including surgery, radiation and brachy therapy. Since that time, I have been able to eat less and less. Right now, I'm down to consuming High Protein Boost and clear Boost Breeze. Surgery was done by a general surgeon, with a large…

Brachytherapy on the horizon
Hello Ladies, I've been lurking here for about a month and have enjoyed the posts, although I don't always understand the terminology. I am a new member of the endometrial adenocarcinoma "club". I didn't have traditional symptoms (bleeding, etc.) and the issue came up during a routine Pap smear (abmormal cells) in April. I…

Serous Carcinoma- spots in lungs.
Hello everyone. I'm new to the board and would like to thank everyone for taking the time to write their experiences! I cant tell you all how much it has already meant to us. My aunt was recently diagnosed with serous carcinoma stage 4. The doctor is recommending a total hysterectomy provided they did not find and spots in…

Chemotherapy
I just had a post operative appointment with my surgeon. He successfully removed the cancerous left para-aortic lymph node (on June 29, 2020) that had been a recurrence from the Stage IB, FIGO 2 endometrioid endometrial adenocarcenoma (Total hysterectomy in Jan 2020). He now recommends chemotherapy and possibly targeted…

Hi everyone, I do not post anymore but I keep reading your stories quite often When I was diagnosed on July 2018 the Dr told me that I had Endometrioid Stage 1A Grade 1 I read my Pathology report yesterday with more attention and it says Endometrioid Carcinoma with Squamous Differentiation. I checked online and I've got…

Treatments done but . . .
Hi, I was diagnosed last fall 2019, with carcinosarcoma. Had surgery immediately was then diagnosed at Stage IIIc.1 - radical hysterectomy and 6 cycles of carbo. and taxal with 28 radiation sessions sandwiched in between. CT scans shows NED - and yet I am struggling mentally with moving on - I have this constant awareness…

To freeze eggs or not to freeze eggs, that is the question
Hi everyone! I have just been diagnosed and have been given bout a three month window to potentially pursue some egg freezing. I'm 29 and have never had a significant other. I have always thought that one day I would be pregnant and have a baby of my own, but now I need to have a hysterectomy and can never scare little…

Recurrence
I had total hysterectomy in January, internal vaginal brachytherapy in March and now found out the cancer recurred in a para-aortic lymph node. Surgery is scheduled for June 29th. Doctor says I may need follow up chemo and radiation therapy. I am not looking forward to this. Has any one had any experience with integrative…

Drug Costs Lotto- vent alert
Just want to vent....I've been on the phone most of the afternoon trying to find a way to reduce my drug costs. I have a Medicare Part D plan through United Healthcare AARP (it sucks compared to my previous commercial plans). Although Medicare is great, the drug plan sucks. i currently am in the "doughnut hole" because of…

UPSC and hormone replacement?
I know there are many UPSC survivors on the board, so perhaps one of you can help. Although I'm in my 60s, I learned I was not technically hormonally in menopause when I saw the gyn last July who referred me to the gyn/oncologist who became my doctor. The referring gyn is very into hormone replacement and gave me a lot of…

At Wits End - follow up to guidance welcome.
I am truly at Wits End. I went for yet another biopsy this morning following that marathon period of more than a month. It was so painful! The last two biopsies were hardly uncomfortable but this one was torture (even with a lidocaine injection). Maybe because the endometrial stripe was just 5mm? In any case, he had to do…

Endometrial Biopsy
My conclusion is don't let them do this painful procedure when they often don't get enough tissue to tell you anything. https://www.cancertherapyadvisor.com/home/cancer-topics/gynecologic-cancer/endometrial-cancer-study-reveals-practice-gap-treatment/

Guidance Welcomed
Hi, this saga of mine doesn't seem to stop. After being treated for simple hyperplasia last summer (2019) I had a biopsy which was hyperplasia free (following 4 months on megestrol acetate). My periods did return but about every 6 to 7 weeks (despite being 52 my bloodwork says I'm not menopausal). Then just over a month…
