Yoga and or resistance exercise during chemo
Friends, Is it ok to do yoga and or resistance exercise during chemo? I read an article or two stating in one study of groups divided by those that did not exercise, those that did aerobics, and those that did resistance during chemo-that the group doing resistance was most successful in completing chemo treatments. It was…

unusual chemo side effect
I had an unusual chemo side effect that I thought I would share to avoid others from worry. I noticed that after any chemo if I sat down hard on the sofa and then laid down I would get a pounding pressure (like a throbbing from a terrible headache) that started at my lower spine and then slowly went up my spine. When it…

What vitamins are antioxidants to avoid while on chemo
Thanks for the posts on vitamins. That was my thought as well. A simple vitamin with no extra dosages of anything, or any herbs etc. Everyone noted no antioxidants-what would those be? Thanks! Hugs Cindy

Multivitamins while on chemo
Friends, I have a question. My oncologist said it would be ok to take a multivitamin during chemo-I have not been doing so. For a while I took Flinstones, but decided they might be bad for teeth since they are chewable. Recently I found online One a Day Essentials-which just has your basic vitamins and no herbs added in-so…

One issue she is having is that she starts feeling really bad late at night (10pm or later). She cannot describe it so I will call it malaise (I have asked her but she says she does not have pain…

To J Mullen 16------Does CA125 test only confirm cancer returning to original location?
Hi all. Does the CA125 cancer marker test only indicate if cancer has reoccured in the original location? I thought often if cancer returns even to a different location that is usually originates from the first cancer. That is a bit scarey if that is the case, that the CA125 test is only indicative of a return to the…

Instant Nonfat Dry Milk to Add Protein
Friends, Has anyone tried mixing instand nonfat dry milk into regular milk to add protein to rebuild cells during chemo? Has anyone heard how much protein is good during chemo? I have heard between 60-80 grams. Does this sound right or too high? I know normally too much protein is not good for kidneys. Hugs.

WHY SOME OF US HAVE CHEMO WHEN WE KNOW IT WON'T ELIMINATE ALL CANCER CELLS.......
hi sisters, i had my port flushed today and nancy, the charge nurse, and my personal favorite, volunteered to do it. easy and quick. i asked her what the rationale was to give women with upsc (for example), chemo when it was known that not all cancer cells would be eradicated by the chemo. her answer seemed self-evident to…

Finally received my 5th chemo on October 12th----also question about mono number
Friends, After two weeks delay for low platelets, I received my 5th chemo of taxol/carbo on Tuesday October 12th. My oncologist also lowered the dose a bit on the carbo due to the big platelet drop last time. The platelets jumped back up in this pastweek from 68,000 to 139,000. I didn't think that was possible. Thank you…

Had my 'between chemos' NADIR lab work done today & learned something I wanted to share.
I'm getting Doxil 28 days apart and my oncologist is planning on drawing labs midway between my infusions as well as 'chemo days', so that he can see how I'm doing at my lowest point, my 'nadir'. Today I had my 1st 'between chemos' lab work done, a little late since he was off last week. My platelets were good and RBC only…
