Stereotyping OVC cancer
I have been NED for about a year, now. I have been having severe migraines. I had them before the cancer, but the hysterectomy seemed to take care of them. Now they are back in full force and worse. I normally don't think twice about them. The past couple of weeks, my extremities have started shaking. Not a major shake,…

How do you know if your platium sensitive (Carbo)
People on this site talk alot about being platium sensitive. What does that mean? Does that mean you have an alergic reaction or does it mean you don't have an allergic reaction but the drug is not working for you?

I am an ovarian cancer survivor!!! That is a great statement to make. I am proud to make such a statement...and I do believe it. However, as life reminds us daily...there is always a "however"....Transitions of cancer is what I think of..... I survived....I'm glad for that, but it took a toll. One that I did not think…

When I was diagnosed in Jan. 2010, finding this board was a Godsend. I felt free to ask questions and I drew hope from the many stories here. Is it normal for a port to hurt still after 4 weeks?
I had my port put in the left side of my chest at the end of October. Sometimes it is uncomfortable when I lay in bed. It feels like it is pinching. Sometimes when I am just sitting watching tv I get a pain in it too. Is this normal? Does anyone else have issues like this?

CA 125 elevation and auto immune condition
Hello All I just joined the CSN today. I had chemo with IPT in July and since then my CA 125 has been within the normal range. Until last week that is - it doubled to 55 and I am freaking out that it might be a recurrence of the OC. But my bloodwork also showed that my TSH was elevated at 8 - so I am also hypothyroid now…

How do you handle the anxiety
Hello, brave women. :) I was hoping you could offer advice on how to handle the anxiety that comes with this disease. I was not what you'd call an optimistic personality before diagnosis, so getting cancer makes things rather more challenging. It's been about 2.5 years since my diagnosis of 3C, surgery, and chemo, but I…
