5 Years Down the Road -- NED, Baby!!
One one hand, it seems like my diagnosis in April/May 2014 was such a long time ago. On the other hand, it seems like yesterday. While my tumor was small at 2.9 cm, it was in a tricky location on right kidney. Complicating the situation was the fact that I had extensive abdominal surgery. My first urologist said my entire…

Because of that I'm dealing with on and off depression but meanwhile trying hard to…

Boys only
One of the advantages of Kidney Caner for us guys, especially those of us over 50 is tthat we are seen at least yearly by a Uro. Besides a regular DRE and PSI he runs other tests and takes a better history in a search for Prostate Cancer. I think it helped for me in dectecting it before it otherwusewould of. icemantoo

HLRCC or type 2 papillary??
Hi, I’m new and looking to see if there is anyone else with HLRCC or type 2 papillary kidney cancer on this forum. It’s rare and difficult to find research, information, or others to connect with for advice so I thought I’d give this a try. I had surgery 3.5 years ago to remove tumor, kidney, adrenal gland, and part of…

12 Months After Stopping Immunotherapy
I had another one of my three-monthly CT scans last week, 12 months after stopping the immunotherapy I had been receiving for three years. Still no signs of anything, and my bloods are all good, as is my life in general. Going on to six-monthly scans now. Regards, Fred

definition of invincible
So, my dad told us yesterday that he has kidney cancer. I don’t think I’ve ever cried as hard as I did when he let is know what was going on. My dad is a 47-year-old geek, a non-smoker, non-drinker, a relatively healthy guy who shouldn’t be under the weight of all of this. At first, he thought it was kidney stones, and…

So I got through the surgery on Thursday and only had one complications, I had irregular heart beat and went into afib, but they pulled me out of it and I am good. Doc beleives the chemo i had for my BC was a contributor to this. So while I went home with one less kidney, I pick up 2 more meds for life. I feel good though.…

Hi, My head is spinning from doing so much research online, and am hoping I can get some insight from this community. Today's funny
A senior citizen from The Villages Retirement Community in Florida drove his brand new Corvette stingray convertible out of the dealership. Taking the on ramp south on I-75, he floored it to 80 mph enjoying the wind blowing through what little gray hair he had left. “Amazing,” he thought as he flew down I 75, pushing the…

3/4 Month follow-up scans
I had my first round of two weeks ago (partial neph/enucleation was end of March). My urologist initially opted for just the abdominal CT (w/ contrast), but I pushed for chest and pelvis too since I never had one before the surgery. Luckily my insurnace provider (Aetna) approved the revised request and was able to get the…
