My second follow-up scan

So my first scans 6 months post-nephrectomy were good, except that they showed "mild soft tissue stranding in the renal bed". Probably just inflammation left over from my surgery, but we decided to play it safe and ordered another CT scan for three months later to compare.

Had my second scan yesterday and it was all good. There's still mild inflammation, but it's improved from the prior scan. No evidence of disease!

Scanxiety is a tricky beast and it comes at me in weird ways. Before my first scan I was worried and anxious - before this scan I didn't worry at all. But now I realize looking back that I've been in a grumpy mood the days leading up to the scan. Just my mind's way of dealing with the anxiety.

I can't believe it's been nine months since my neph. Don't know how I would've gotten through it without all of you. Continued health and healing to everyone!
