Newly diagnosed, am terrified, but supposed to be strong
Last week, i had an admominal ct scan to run out appendicitis. In the scan, they saw a 6 cm mass on my kidney. I went to see my dr, who sent me to a urologist. I am lucky: the cancer will be cured once the tumor is gone. It does not seem to have spread. The surgery has not been scheduled, but it will be soon. I am lucky.…

Just found out I have Kidney cancer
I’m amazed how conflicting the information is for a disease so well known. I don’t have all the stats on the size and level. But I can tell you there going to remove the left kidney and a small bit of the right. It doesn’t look like it’s spread to any other organs. I guess I need to learn the terminology so I can have more…

Religious nuts etc...
Reverend Boudreaux was the part-time pastor of the local Cajun Baptist Church and Pastor Thibodaux was the minister of the Covenant Church across the road. They were both out by the road pounding signs into the ground that read: 'Da End is Near Turn Yo Sef 'Roun Now Afore It Be Too Late!' As a car sped past them, the…

Copay help with cancer drugs
I am wondering if any of you have found someplace to get help with the copays for cancer drugs that your insurance doesn't cover. I did find someplace that helps and will post if anyone wants the website. My husband's drug is $6300 a month and our insurance only pays $3400 so we had to find help somewhere and finally did.

Accessory spleen after nephrectomy
Dear All! My mother has a radical nephrectomy in 2010 (left kidney) because of renal cell carcinoma. In 2010 the doctors did not find any metastasis in her body. Now she had a control CT scan which shows 3 small nodules next to her spleen. The doctors do not know whether it is a metastatic or can be an accessory spleen.…

Can't believe how you have to double check everything
My mom has recently been diagnosed with stage IV RCC with mets in her lungs. This is 2 years after her kidney was removed. It just amazes me that you can't trust that what is supposed to happen will happen and you have to be on top of everything. My mom and dad divorced 20+ years ago and they both rely on me to help them…
