Of course, we are all hoping for an…

I'm looking for advice on where to have a port-o-cath placed. With my first bout of cancer I had a double lumens groshong. I've heard that a port-o-cath requires less maintence. I'm a very active person, so I want to go with the option that works best with full movement capabilities. I've heard that having the port placed…

Grandma 047 (Judy) I owe you an apology. I have no idea why I was so rude to you last evening, but I was. I could probably blame it on a several things, fear being the only one that even comes close. But truth be know, there is no excuse. We all come to this board to learn and support each other and I think I terribly…

i love my dad's surgeon!
My dad went to see his surgeon this past week for a routine follow up and my dad mentioned to him about cleaning (flushing) out his port and you will never believe what the surgeon said! He told my dad that he will schedule surgery to remove it instead. SO my dad tells him that the oncologist thinks it should stay in for…

The Missive
Webster sez: " a written message" .. which is a one -way conversation until you get a response. Face-to-face we get all kinds of cues, body language, etc. Here those are MISSing, therefore, sometimes we only get to read what is said, not what is felt. An occasional miss sometimes lets us see more clearly (?) Nanuk

grades of cancer
I have recently discovered my mothers stage 3 rectal cancer was a high-grade cancer. She is currently cancer free. This obviously means it was agressive. I know she can still survive this but I guess I'm looking for a little more comfort. She is 56 years old and had one node involved. julie

Secondary Liver Cancer
Hi, This is my third new thread topic this week. Hope it's not too much! I had my first C-T scan done yesterday after finding a rectal tumor last week. C-T scan saw a golf ball size mass in my liver in which "the enhancement pattern is not suggestive of a benign hemangioma". They're not sure it's cancer but of course I'm…
