Brain Mets? - PET Scan
Hi, I was speaking to a nurse during chemo, she mentioned that the brain is also a destination for colo-rectal mets. I hadn't really heard that. I have two small liver mets that were seen by C-T and PET scan, but these did not scan my brain. Are brain mets really a common site for mets and has anyone else had their brain…

PICC Line VS. Port
Hi, Another question... I have a PICC Line. My oncologist opted for it so I could get started on Avastin right away rather than wait for surgery to install a PORT plus recovery time. I'm interested in getting a PORT eventually though. But I have heard mixed opinions on the cost/benefits. One nurse told me there is…

I was so nervous, but everyone said that I didn't seem to be. I think it was a good testimony as to how faithful God is. If I'm saing something on here that I'm…

update on my wife and questions
Hi, I posted several weeks ago about my wife, a stage III colon cancer patient. She has finished 8 of 12 FOLFOX 6 treatments and thus far has tolerated them fairly well. She has to have neupogen injections for 6-7 days after each cycle to keep her white blood cell count up. I am concerned about the longer-term effects of…

Hi all, I hope you all are doing well I'm sorry that I haven't gotten to post much replies to messages lately. Seems like I'm not meant to take chemo. Few people on this site have posted about anal cancer reoccurrence who had the standard treatment (5FU, mitomycin, radiation). I had a port put in on Friday morning. It is below the collarbone about an inch and the tube goes across the collarbone to the jugular vein. It is still quite painful, and I'm getting a pain in the chest. Is this common, and how long will it take to get used to. The tube sticks out very pronounced in the neck. Any advice…

colon CA stage 3c-- encouraging stories?
I just had a colectomy which revealed stage 3C-- 21 lymph nodes found with cancer! I want to keep a positive outlook but I admit being scared. My youngest is 17. I want to be around for her wedding and kids of her own. Any encouraging stories? I start chemo in about 3 weeks--- I suppose.
