I go for #2 tomorrow. I had no side effects with the first one, other than my diet coke tasted awful, and I am praying that I can be that blessed again. I am on Folfox, and will be wearing that wonderful little fanny pack that we all love so well. I am like everyone else, I want to get finished with this and get on with my…

Almost Finished
Well, my husband is almost finished with his aggressive chemo treatments, 1 left. He will get a month off and then do all the tests and then will go back on maintenance chemo. We have already been told by the oncologist that he will be on chemo for the rest of his life - a small price to pay to be here with his family.…

Question for any "Old Timers" out there
I don't mean age wise, I mean people who have been dealing with colon cancer for an extended period of time with at no time being NED. I was dx 5 years ago last week and I've been in treatment ever since with the exception of 2 small breaks (maybe 6-8 weeks off due to not being able to stand it anymore) and have racked up…

Rectal Cancer Surgeon Shopping
How does one best shop around and assure oneself that you are teamed with the best surgeon for your purposes? I am considering calling the hospital and asking for the list of rectal cancer surgeries and which doctor performed the surgery. Quantity may indicate good practice. I am eager to hear any ideas on how best to…

surgery set
I met with surgeon and onc yesterday and we agreed that surgery ( a second lung resection) was the next move. This was based on met size, location and growth potential. While RFA is a possibility, the surgeon who does both with a radiologist, felt that it is better to go with the resection. I was hoping for VATS (video…

CT Scan Useless
I've read on other message boards that CT scans vs. PET scans are useless and that they wouldn't put any stock in what the CT scan says and the only reason that the doctors order CT scans instead of PET scans is because the insurance companies usually won't pay for the PET but they will for the CT. If the CT scan is so…

CT Scans, Lungs and is it only a cold
Hello Semi-Colons, Hope everyone is doing great. I am once again going into a funk about an up and coming CT Scan. I also had a large mark but it was determined to be I think calcification caused by radiation I had years ago for…

Giant colon seen on Times Square!!
AdAge magazine online had a brief about the following in its issue online today. This is great to know of this promotion. Wonder if they do a resection on it when there's not enough space to display the whole thing? Ouch! New Plan...ready for next round of chemo
I saw the oncologist yesterday. I have been so depressed, and the pain meds aren't working that well. I have been hiding in bed way too much, with the excuse that I can't sit (true) because of the rectum pain. I have so many adverse reactions and allergies to meds that I knew I didn't want antidepressants...what to do?…

insurance denying Erbitux for stage 3
Hi All, Well we thought that **** would start Folfox and Erbitux on Tues. However, our insurance is saying no Erbitux for stage III. So, we have to wait to see if he gets randomized out for the study. That delays chemo for another week. For those of you who had Erbitux for stage III was it a pain with your insurance? If…
