Gas, ostomies and sleep issues

Yes, Bay Village ! You made me feel good when I read your post. I have not met anyone from the Texas coast, (where I live now) but at least I feel a "connection" with someone who knows where Bay Village is located. I've got a brother living in Rocky River. Thank you for the post, it made my day.

Hi Semi-Colons. I have found out that I have some mets to my lungs. My oncologist wants to put me on Erbitux and CPT11. She was saying that some insurance companies do not want to pay for the drug (even though it IS approved by the FDA for colon cancer) Right now, I had my Onc send in a letter of 'predetermination' as they…

Frightening Segment on some hopsitals closing their cancer facilities for people with no insurance but who are not on welfare or not rich. venting
My son will be going to Iraq in about 8 days. He'll be home for a few days before he has to leave. I worry about what kind of care will he receive if something happens. Our Soldiers put their lives on the line for all of us everyday. I think everyone holds them in the highest esteem and that they should have good health…

Hans update #2
Procedure went well. Patient was a pain in the neck (read lower body part). Glad to have survived it. The anesthesiologist is a dear friend of both of us, and he was there, not because the procedure warranted it, but because we both were frightened. He talked to Hans thru the entire thing. It was a great comfort. He now…

Switched from folfox to folfiri?
Hi everyone Today my husbands oncologist said he'd switch him to folfiri for his next treatment (#4) because his side effects have been harsh - mainly his throat feeling like it's gonna close up when he drinks, or breaths for that matter. It's not so much a sensitivity to cold or neuropathy, although he has that too.…

WOW!!! Have I missed some action!
And to think that I once caused some friction over pushing natural and homeopathic treatments! Look-I'm a prosecutor by trade...22 years now...and I must say that it is good to see the fight in all of us...even if it is with each other! It is GREAT to feel so strongly about something-one way or another..and to fight it out…

Public Service Announcement
I recently emailed the people who run this forum and asked that the space provided for writing an email be made much bigger. Sort of like how these forums are. I don't know how many people communicate with other members via email, but if you have I would think that you are not too crazy about having 6 lines visible. They…

Juicing revisited....
Hi everyone! I was just wondering, for those of you that juice, what recipes do you use? I've done so much reading on anti-cancer foods and I'm just confused as to what would be the best veggie/fruit combo for me. I try to juice at least 4 times per week and I find that I'm putting everything in but the kitchen sink. My…

Name something that gives you great comfort
Everyone here on the boards knows that there is great comfort in being able to share our journeys with others who are going through the same or very similar journeys. But at the end of the day, we still have those times when we wonder... "Do I really know what I'm going through here??" At those times, what do you do to…
