During chemo -- how to define?
On another thread, people discussed that they should not take antioxidants during chemo. What do you mean "during chemo"? Do you mean during the entire period from the first day of the first round of chemo to the last day of the last round of chemo or just during the time of active chemo infusion?

The answers only sparked more questions - PET scan results in
So, I finally got the call at 6PM with my PET results. I was thinking the worst when no one would tell me the results, and I had to wait for the oncologist to finish his day and personally call. The reason for my PET was a spot on the backside of my liver that was picked up on a CT scan prior to my dx. That one didn't…

To all avastin users. I went in for my 8th cycle of Folfiri and Avastin and almost didn't get the avastin. The cut off point is 2+ for protein in your urine which I had. From your experience, do the treatments gradually get worse from the build up of chemo or typically stay about the same. My hubby goes for #2 on Tuesday and is doing great after first treatment. Thanks you all so much, you have great advice and it makes our journey a little easier. Always look forward to reading the posts…

Port insertion
I just had my post-op with the surgeon, and we scheduled the port insertion. He said most of his colleagues prefer to go under the collarbone and into a big vein in the chest. He prefers to go up over the collarbone and into a vein in the neck. The reason is less problems - including dropping the risk of puncturing the…

Not cancer related, this is a social problem
I just read an article concerning an uproar in Florida over an 83-0 HS football score. All the parents and school administrators are in a tizzy over the beating. This is discouraging. Why should anyone or team diminish their performance to a lower level. I shutter to think what is going on in people's minds when they…

Which still doesn't explain the bleeding, the doc said it was probably a hemmoriod that burst. The anesthesia didn't work well on him, he got to watch the discovery…
