Thanks for all of your support! My back is sooooo much better!!!!
First I went to my primary care doc. He examined my back, and wrote scripts for pain killers, muscle relaxants, anti-inflamatants... Next I went to a chiropractor that I met, of all places, in the parking lot of my primary care doc. He was there on his day off, and didn't push, but when I said something about hurting so…

PICC-line vs Port
Hi everyone, I don't do a lot of posting but I read everything on this web-site. I have a question about picc-lines. A few weeks ago I developed a blood clot in my arm. It was determined that my port caused it. I was hospitalized for 4 days, now I'm on Coumadin. My Oncologist decided that the port needed to be removed…

Doctor stopped my chemo today, becasue of all the problems I have had from it.
I’ve completed three out of four cycles of the Roswell Park Regimen in which I receive 5-fluorouracil and leucovorin once a week for 6-weeks and then 2-weeks off and this is repeated for four cycles, or 24-treatments. I have completed 18 treatments. I’ve landed in the hospital with each cycle and the last treatment…

A word about (blush) sex:
I am seriously amazed that I am even posting this, but if it will give someone hope that is struggling...well.... I finished my radiation to the rectal area 1/2005. At first, internal relations were impossible, it just hurt too darn bad! Over time, it got better, but still there was a bit of 'prep work' needed before…

The problem with "KarenLaw's" post...
Joining this board, and posting a request asking for fax numbers, email addresses, or personal responses, appears to most of us as some sort of "scam" affair; Fishing for data never goes over too well on any BBS. Secondly, any oncologist will tell you that there is an approximate percentage of individuals that will survive…

articles about too many CT scans
I just got my "Good Housekeeping" magazine in the mail and it had an article that was upsetting to read. I know we're all aware that a CT scan (and hence a PET scan) has a lot of radiation, but it was upsetting to read this article. It called it the Test That Causes Cancer and how to not get it when your doctor recommends…
