Got those Scan Results
Well, I went to SF today for my scan results. I guess I should have guessed at how the day would go. Traffic was bad and it took 4 hours to get there. At the lab, my normally grouchy tech was on vacation and the nice smiling man who was subbing couldn't get a draw... Then the next lady wanted to put the iv in my hand, but…

Painful liver mass
I have been treating for metastatic colorectal cancer for 3 years. 6 months ago I was told that the Folfiri I was on was effective in treating the 2 liver mets that I had and my liver was then clean. My recent CT scan earlier this month shows a new and large mass in the right lobe of my liver that has been causing alot of…

Lots of us talk about "scanxiety" but does anyone else ever feel "oncxiety"? I am meeting with my onc tomorrow bright + early + for some reason I am feeling really nervous. I am not getting any scan results but will likely find out the results from KRAS testing as we are checking out options if my my present chemo stops…

Scans today
I've been experiencing some "discomfort". Nothing serious, but it's enough to make me think hard about my scans today. One year ago tomorrow was my surgery. Getting results one year later is ironic, and playing with my head.

chemo and pregnacy
My pregnant daughter and my grand daughter are planning a trip to visit with my wife and I for about three weeks while her husband is training for the military. I should be on my second Folfox treatment by then. I was wondering if there is any danger to her and my 18 month old grand daughter due to my chemo and having any…

FOLFIRI w/Avastin
I don't want to jinx myself, but so far FOLFIRI and Avastin are a picnic for me compared to FOLFOX. This is still no fun, and I'm quite miserable, but in comparison, I don't wish I were dead today, like I did my first round of FOLFOX! I had a little gurgling and loose stool day of infusion, but no real diarrhea. Since then…

Angry and Frustrated more surgery
I went to the new Hernia doctor today to see about the hernias that were found on my CT scan, and he tells me that i am looking at another major surgery! They may have to open me up just like when I had my resection! Damn it! I have clear scans, no sign of cancer and now this! Just when you think you have it made, WHAM!…

Removed my ovarian mass yesterday via hysterectomy
and all looked clean!! Colon cancer had spread to my ovaries producing a large mass just months after stopping chemotherapy. The Dr thinks my original doses of chemo possibly suppressed its growth and perhaps it was there from the beginning of my stage 3 colon resection. Good news as the whole surrounding area looks clean…

Carpel Tunnel
I found out I have carpel tunnel on my hands which probably got worse with the chemo and neuropathy on my feet due to the chemo. I've had this pain for about a year now. FYI: If you have carpel tunnel on your fingers, wrist or your shoulder hurts, it is better to not use the thumb and fore finger because there are nerves…

Need fluid suggestions for hydration
Currently my husband is struggling with hydration. He has a ileostomy bag and is on chemo treatment (oxiplatin & Xeloda). He is drinking Gatorade and water. But, of course, it just runs real quick through his body to his bag. He is also eating quite a bit of soup. Are there some fluids better than others to help with this?…

Leaking Chemo
Yep, you read it right, not allowed to touch grandson, because I'm leaking chemo through my pores. Yep, that's the latest theory my son's fiancee' has, all of a sudden, I'm a chemo leak and shouldn't touch my grandson. I could see if my little darling was sucking on my arm, which I wouldn't ever allow, but not to be able…

Peritoneal Chemotherapy- Anyone gone through this?
Hi, my husband ws just diagnosed with stage IV Colon cancer two weeks ago. He had surgery to remove the tumor and we were informed that while the cancer had not spread to other organs, it had spread to most of his lymph nodes and to his peritoneal cavity. We are researching a surgical chemotherapy procedure that he may be…
