an apology for Sharpy
during our most recent disagreements I inserted a simple yawn. Unfortunately this yawn came right after Sophie's post and it honestly was not intended to slur her. I thought her post was wonderful and I should never try to use a joke . The fighing really hurts me, it get's me down, it makes my stomach churn. I should have…

I had great news last treatment and even better today!
At my 3rd treatment I found out that my tumor marker went down from 337 to 70 then to 17. I went for my 4th treatment today and they removed Oxaliplatin from my cocktail. This will help me with the neuropathy. YAY.....I can drink cold things and touch cold things without pain!!! The best of the news was I gained another 4…

lumg tramsplants
Hi Everyone, I'm curious to know if anyone has ever heard of a lung transplant being done on a cancer patient. I'd appreciate any information anyone has. I brought this up to my oncologist, but he didn't seem very willing to look into it. Have a great weekend! Thanks, Jamie

Food for thought:"Low carb, High-Protein diets May Reduce Both Tumor Growth Rates and Cancer Risks"
reported at medicalnewstoday.com/releases/228497.php (and other sites,emaxhealth.com; healthcanal.com; etc) based on a study conducted in mice "but the scientists involved agree that the strong biological findings are definitive enough that an effect in humans can be considered"

OT - My Excellent European Adventure Day Five
We woke early, needing to pack and prepare for a 9:30am flight to Verona. I had two bags, and I rearranged them for this trip so that the small one, my carry-on, would have my computer packed inside it. Once ready, out to the lobby for a bit of breakfast, then back to bring the bags out. It was quite a collection in the…

Okay...I'm about 1 month from my last chemo. It was 6 Folfiri but prior to that I had 6 Folfox which my onc stopped because of side effects. Now that I have not had chemo for about a month, my brain is waking up. But my feet are beginning to have some swelling. (Is my smarts going downhill?...kidding) They did not do this…

Neuropathy and Oxaliplatin Revisited
Hi all neuropathy sufferers: Now I know what you are all talking about. I had very little neuropathy with Cycle 1 of folfoxfiri (or whatever the word is). I took 2 daily VitB6, L-glutamine, and cal/mag. Today I had cycle 2 at a reduced irenotecan treatment (and maybe reduced oxaliplatin). All I can say is "oh my". The…

The crazy making process of waiting for test results.
It’s amazing how much I was catastrophizing things when I visited my doctor this week to learn the results of my CEA and CT scan. This would be the one year mark since my last chemo treatment, and my doctor told me that if colon cancer returns then in 90% of the cases it will happen within the first year from the last…

FOLFOXFIRI - 1st round OK
Hi All, I had my first round of FOLFOXFIRI last week. It went fine and side effects not too bad. Since I have been on many other 'cocktails' ;) I had some basis for comparison. I would say not too different from, say, being on FOLFOX -- for me. It took me a little longer to be feeling "good". I used to say hey I can feel…
