Sure Need Your Opinion....
I had something happen today and I just couldn't explain it. I thought I would run it by you guys and see if anyone had thoughts or opinions or maybe knew what it could be.
Got up this morning feeling great. Had breakfast. Started feeling like a BM on the way but false alarm. Peeing started to get difficult... I would go but very little and it was forced yet I kept having a feeling I had to go...felt pressure in rectum too. Pains started on right side about level of belly button...... kept going to the bathroom but not much of anything coming out. The pain gradually got worse and worse till I was crying and bent over in pain...general pain in that lower right area with pains sometimes shooting around to back..or straight up. Husband finally said we are going to ER. Headed to my hospital and pain was becoming unbearable...could not sit..had to kinda lay on side in reclined seat. Husband said we were going to a closer hospital cause I wasn't gonna make it to ours...stomach felt like it was gonna bust.... Between tears I told him my Doc not at that hospital so he floored it and we continued on to my hospital...by that time I was crying so hard I was gasping for air...you know...that one kinda cryin...then..all of the sudden..it stopped...NO PAIN...NO NOTHING... I felt fine. We went ahead and drove to hospital but I had hubby park in lot... I got out...walked around.... fine...absolutely fine...even felt good....just tired like I had just run a marathon.
What the heck was that? I didn't go IN the hospital then... I mean ...there was nothing wrong THEN....no reason THEN.... so we went home. I have felt fine the rest of the day. Ate lunch and just rested all day but fine.
I have chemo (CPT-11 only)tomorrow but I don't know if I should get it or wait till Tuesday and go to my PCP tomorrow and see what she thinks. I feel I should not let a pain like that go without looking into it. It happened for a reason. It wasn't gas and I have not yet had a BM. By the time we got back home I had to pee like a race horse and had no problems with it coming out then. I have a small hernia above my belly button...don't know if that ties in... I have no appendix..that went with colon so that can't be it.... What do you guys think...anybody have this happen to them???? I am clueless.

They call it the Phantom Pop Phenomena and is common among
your breed (it also explains your P P P state).
But it also could have been a partial intestinal blockage that put undo
pressure on the urinary tract.
The symptom (or "blockage") is gone, so I doubt any scan will disclose much.
So?:
"It wasn't gas and I have not yet had a BM.
I have a small hernia above my belly button..."
I think that fits the "intestinal blockage" diagnosis...
But then, I'm a real hog-head with this stuff.
Jump up and down; see if anything rolls out!
Stay well,

PPP huh????? I don't know much about blockage...partial or otherwise....but if something WAS blocked..nd then became unblocked...wouldn't a BM be in order.. I mean like right away when no longer blocked????
Thank you hog-head... LOL

Shot in the dark here but could it have been a kidney stone. My sis had one and your pain sounds just like hers, she was in agony. She had to pee into a coffee filter and when it passed it was so very tiny to cause such pain.

I did think about that but if that was the case wouldn't the pain have continued until I pee'd out the stone? That came to mind because last year I was on a injected drug to control my diarrhea from the Folfiri and the main side effect was development of stones. Thanks Tina

My vote is a bowel obstruction, as well....
And most of them clear themselves, especially the small bowel ones...since it is constantly moving around....
I have a tricky place also right by my belly button. After the surgery, we all contended that my small bowel, unused to being bound by a redirected colon, squiggled (a medical term...lol) around and got tangled in itself. After 4 days of NPO, NG tube, walking, and morphine, my second resection in 6 months took out 3 inches of small bowel. My gastric guy scolded me for waiting 3 days...

I agree with Tina. Sounds like a kidney stone to me. I experienced an almost identical episode last year. I did make it into the ER while in excruciating, walking around, bent over pain. They got me hooked up to an IV, gave me some valium to calm me down, took at CT and said it was a small stone. By this time the pain had subsided and they sent me home with a filter to urinate through. Never saw a stone or anything even resembling gravel. But no more pain and no problem since. I can certainly sympathize with the pain. Labor was not as bad!!!
Hope it was an isolated incident for you as well.
Take care,

Re:

What's your hurry? You got company coming?
Sometimes it takes awhile to build up enough shi xxxxx, cra xxxx
(what's the word I'm looking for here?) Feces! The stuff is sitting
and the liquid being re-absorbed, and everything becomes compacted
more, since it was sitting in one place. You may end up constipated
and require some really bad, decomposed food to loosen things up.
Are your eyes more brown than usual? I thought so.
Kidney stones usually cause a pain on the left side, front and/or back.
They don't normally cause one to stop defecating, just urinating.
But..... However.... and... when one is in severe pain, one usually
doesn't give a ____ about anything else, anyway.
(just sayin')
That hernia you described is in a great spot to cause blockages,
and when the intestines swell from the gas buildup, it can put
pressure on other organs. I could not play my Wurlitzer for a week.
It's gone now.. the next time it happens, get to the ER and get
a scan or x-ray. They oughta' be able to see it clearly that way!
Best of health !

I don't know Jennie...but it
I don't know Jennie...but it sounds like it's time for a BM. Sometimes (but not too often) I get a sharp belly pain before mine (sorry if tmi but you were asking ...)I'm still so new at all this info and trying to figure things too. I was actually trying to think how I wanted to approach my next question for y'all....But back to you I'm wondering if you're a bit on the constipated side of things and need some help going with some meds maybe? Or shoot I hope it's not the dreaded blockage.
Good luck girly and I hope it resolves but whatever happens...your doc needs to know about the pain ok?
Love to ya, Gail0 -
I agree with Tina I would bet for a kidney stone , or some sandgeotina said:Jennie:

Jennie
to a position where it no longer caused pain. My first reaction was kidney stone, too.0 -
Late reply
but it might have been a cyst of some sort, I remember way back when I used to get them and boy sometimes when they would burst on their own it would feel like someone stabbed me with a knife, lots of burning feelings, extreme pain for about 20-30 minutes and then it was over. Just a thought..
Hope your feeling better buddy..
