Tumors-moderately differentiated-help w/experience
Hello-- Had a check up for recent thorocotomy and during incision the liver surgeon was able to remove a cluster or two tumors. The path report from surgery said they were moderately differentiated, which I know means more aggressive growth. Has anyone had this type of tumor or give some insight? I am stage iv colon…

Well I get to do another scan in July. Seems I have some lymph nodes not looking as they should. They apparently did not listen to my speech about playing nice with my liver and lungs. :) . why no resection after finding lymph nodes
i had a couple of questions on "why when they went in to do a liver resection and found lymph nodes they didn't just take them out" so I thought I would post the informative response I got from the surgeon's office: "In the setting of hepatic (liver) and extrahepatic (outside the liver) disease with multiple lymph nodes…

Update On Liver and Lung Mets
All test are back and here is the plan. Surgery to remove the liver spot where the ablation did not work in February. Liver surgeon will do it but wants to…

3rd time the charm still hopeful
i had surgery for the third liver resection on April 19 at MD Anderson in Houston which was hopefully going to get the last of the liver tumors - but doc had to "close me up" since he found that lymph nodes right next to the tumor were cancerous - they were so small that they would not show up on any scans - he didnt take…

I hate the term "cancer survivor!"
Hi - I'm new here; dxed with Stage 2 BC 2 1/2 years ago. Pretty easy ride. I hate the term "cancer survivor" and would like to start using another term. Cancer fighter; Cancer soldier; Cancer winner; Cancer victor; Cancer winner; Cancer standout - something - anything but survivor. What do you all think?

Ever hear of "occult tumors"?
You've read of the Salem witch trials......Well, this has nothing to do with the supernatural. In fact,"About 25 percent of colon cancer patients who are deemed node-negative or pN0,(meaning the cancer has not spread to the lymph nodes) after treatment end up recurring with metastatic disease. Known as occult tumors, these…

Stage 4, 38 years old, wondering?
I am very new to the discussion boards, as I was diagnosed on February 14 of this year with stage 4 colon cancer. Good news, bad news
Got the results of my first CT scan since dx (stage 4, mets-liver-lymph) in February. My CEA has dropped from 44 to 1.4, so that's certainly great news and I was hopeful that I may be a candidate for surgery. The scans showed significant reduction of all tumors -- colon, liver and lymph nodes. But I'm just not a candidate…

I now live month to month, but I pushed this month out a couple weeks. Labs and brain MRI this week, and I see the oncologist tomorrow. No anxiety - I just don't get it anymore and haven't for a long time. I kind of look forward to labs and scans to give me the information I need to make decisions going forward. But I kind…
