Good times
The "girls" and I are so thrilled. Mammogram in the AM. Let the pain begin! Icky. I can take it, so long as the spot we've been watching for a couple of years stays just the same. After that "fun," I'm going to speak to a group at an elementary school about Relay For Life, and I'll lead them in a lap around the track, to…

UPDATE: Watson, come here. I Need (NED) You...
An interesting topic. I don't know how many of you followed the game show Jeopardy last year, but contestants got their butts kicked by Watson, the IBM computer. There was talk at the time about the possible used of Watson with one of them being the medical profession. It can access billions of pages of information which…

CEA no longer dropping - at 500 twice.....Question??
Wife's CEA went to 1200 after 1st treatment, from a pre-chemo of 1800, and quickly bottomed at about 300 in early January and stayed there through early Feb. then no test for 5 weeks. Then two tests at about 500. this last as 500 just before her 9th treatment, a few days ago. This is still a lot higher than most people…

I just wanted to share with those of you who are beginning the 12 treatment, post-surgery chemotherapy regimen that while at onset the timeline looks never ending and those 6 moths seem so incredibly long, time does move on and for me the six months actually seemed to progress quicker than I thought they would. Six weeks post-chemo scans
The CT of my chest and the MRI's of my pelvis and abdomen that I had last Friday came back clear. This is after seven months of Xelox after a liver resection for metastasis in June 2011, and original CRC (Stage II, no chemo) in 2009. Next I go for a new colonoscopy but the news that the scans were OK was wonderful! And I…

Vertigo - Is It Just That? Or a Stroke (TIA)? Or mCRC to the Brain?
7-years ago when I first got cancer and got out of the hospital, I began to get vertigo. The first time was so intense and I had no idea what it was, that I was scared out of my mind and thought for sure I was going to die. Many hearing tests, diagnostic tests, and MRI’s etc, the doctors thought it might be Meneire’s…

I'm okay
Hi, I've been overwhelmed lately (the past few months!) with my job, so I'm not on nearly as much as I used to be, or as I would like to be. Onset of side-effects with FOLFOX
Well, we started chemo on Wednesday (by we, I mean my husband started chemo and I watched). Whoever approved him to start earlier (our onc is on vacation) said to wait on the Avastin until the next round because they took his drain out last week (for abscess after colectomy). Wasn't too thrilled about that but was so…
