Thanksgiving tradition
Every year, my family creates a 'thankful book'. Each member of the family gets a page, and we write what we are thankful for in that year. When the kids were little, they told me what to write or drew pictures. It is one of the highlights of Thanksgiving to go back to previous years and read what we wrote. This year will…

My laptop is dying
My old laptop is dying. It does not have a virus (had it checked) and my hubby is pretty sure it is a gear in the hard drive as it makes horrible noises. Luckily, it has been doing weird things for awhile now, so Katherine insisted that we get me a new laptop for Christmas that she picked out. I said I didn't need it and I…

Whew! After standing in line, both at shopping (Black Friday, you know) and the post office....
My 'secret santa' is on it's way!!! And, as I was waiting, a man in front of me took pity on my lack of knowledge of these 'express mail' boxes...and helped. And then, being friendly with the gals in the Post Office, he wangled free tape for me!!! YEA!!! WHAT a wonderful angel I happened upon!!! Hugs, Kathi

I was diagnosed in January, had mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. Four rounds of chemo. Boyfriend was ok with it all through but on occasion would be mean and tell me when I was down that I should not be down because I only had my breast cut off. Five days before more reconstructive surgery he breaks up with me.…

Scared?
Do you ever stop being scared? I am in my second year as a bc survivor and still feel scared about what might be going on in my body. It frightens me to read about people who have had reoccurences or multiple cancers, as if the very act of reading the words will somehow make it happen to me. Do you ever stop?

I wonder what the ornament and secret santa is....

Menstruation and Chemo
I turned 40 this past August while I was on chemo. I finished chemo in early Oct. I was wondering have any of you pre-menopausal women gotten your period back after chemo finished or should I assume it's not coming back! I don't know whether to be excited or not! LOL thanks Chris.

Side effects from Taxotere and Cytoxan
I had my first of 4 chemo treatments this past Mon., 11/22. The worst side effect 'so far' is raging acne on my face and neck. I can even feel it in my hair. My facial skin is also somewhat tight, although I applied moisturizer. I called the doctor today to request a prescription and the doctor I spoke with (a resident, I…

OMG, OMG, OMG, I am so thrilled--I received the most amazing, miraculous ornament ever!
I just opened my ornament from Victoria (aisling 8) and I am just amazed, jaw dropped to the floor, amazed. It is a clear glass ornamnent, a kind of terrarium, with holly berries and tiny pines combs and an exquisitely beautiful tillandsias bromiliad growing in the middle of it. No one, not even my daughter and husband,…

Chemo while making Heavenly Hash with the nurses..who da thought, ya'll!!
I went for my second of twelve Taxol treatments yesterday. After my A/C brake, I had been "missing" a dear man that I met on my first day of chemo in Sept. I was so scared that day, I wanted my husband just to turn around and go home. We shared the same chemo "day" so we talked often. Last week I asked about him again and…
