My final chemo postponed 2 weeks!
I went to my cancer center and had the blood work done. All set for my final chemo. My oncologist didn't like the fact that I still had laryngitis after 2 weeks and am still coughing (9 weeks today). Plus, because I was running a fever for several days while on antibiotic he felt it best to postpone my chemo for 2 weeks.…

Why do I google??????
I don't know why I do it!! I hear so many phrases, words, etc on here that I don't know what they mean so I try to look them up and get sooooo scared! I don't think my oncologist is fully answering or explaining things to me. Basically I'm getting "chemo and rads are just clean up". I don't have tumor markers (not even sure…

Flat Leaver
I feel like a bit of a flat leaver (an expression I haven't used in about 40 years); and I'm not really going away, but I don't really have as much to say anymore now that Donna is done with chemo and rads. I've seen a lot of people come and go these past 7 months, so there is some sort of natural progression of being a…

Hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving! Our family hosted two young servicemen that were finishing up basic training from Lackland Air Force Base to enjoy Thanksgiving with us. I posted pictures. It has to be so hard being away from family. Despite that, they enjoyed themselves very much! Oh...and I had to…

Anyone still have low white blood cell and neutrophil count months after chemo/rads?
I finished 6 rounds of TAC in May, '10. Ten days after my 6th and final treatment, I was put into the hospital for 5 days for a neutropenic fever due to really low white blood cell and neutrophil counts. They had me on IV antibiotics and the infection cleared. My counts went up but were still below normal. I then started…

The bartender says, "I'll serve you, but don't start anything." 3. Two peanuts walk into a bar, and one was a salted. 4. A dyslexic man walks into a bra. 5. A man walks…

Herceptin ladies (Finished)
After completing all Chemo/Herceptin, how many of you had your Onc "recommend" to keep it in? Did you keep it in or remove it anyway? My diagnosis was IDC, my Onc suggested I keep mine in for another 2 years! Does this mean he expects me to have a recurrence or is it just the norm for this type of BC? Cat

My momma....
I lost my dear Momma on November 2, 2010. She fought a brave battle, but lost. Right now, it's Thanksgiving morning, and life without her is unbearable. I took care of her and believed in my heart that she was getting better, only after she died, it hit me that I was in fact watching her die. My dad is coping, but losing…
