~NIPPLE RECONSTRUCTION UPDATE~
I decided to note what has happened so far, if anyone has had this done please let me know how it went for you. I choose to have a skin graft done above the pubic hair line to create the areola that surrounds the newly created nipple (which is created by snipping created breast skin and sewing it so it puckers). The…

Is second infusion better than first/ predictable?
I feel like everything that goes on with my body is going to end traumatically. If it is a symptom of my body to chemo, I over analyze. My neighbor is burning the "winter pile" today, and I worry that the smoke smell will enter my house and hurt me. I'm scared to go out. This first treatment has been very difficult for me.…

I told you I am either a crazy-lady or an optimist...you be the judge!!!
As most of you know, I recently went to the ER ( Monday, to be exact) and was told that I have fluid on my rt lung..I already had fluid on my lung which had BC cells in it when I was re-dx last May, and I have been responding well to the Tamoxifen. Well, yeah, up until finding cancer in the lymphnode of the previously non…

Arrrggggh...rads rash
So my skin has gone from red and slightly itchy, to rashy and really itchy. The good news is I have 6 days left, and 5 of them are boosters. I asked the rads nurse about it today. She gave me a sample of a 2% Lidocaine cream, said I could also use orajel (it has lidocaine too), or hydracortizone. Did anyone else get this…

And it's making me feel really guilty, because I still haven't even gathered stuff together yet. So I am apologizing now! Low WBC
I was just told my blood test showed my white blood count is 2.5 (Low). It has been 4 months since having my last chemo and final nulesta shot. Concerned when they tell me no routine scans will be done
First, does anybody have this feeling when treatment is done of it not seeming right that they aren't actively doing anything anymore? Much as I am thrilled to have just finished radiation and have finished treatment that started in June 2010, I get this odd feeling that we are not doing anything to fight it anymore which…

I go tomorrow to see my surgeon tomorrow late afternoon (14 days post surgery) to hopefully have the stitches out and get my first chance to see the skin graft and new nipple. Final step in treatments being finished - had my port removed
Tuesday March 8th, went through and had my port removed. Except for not being allowed to lift anything for 48 hours (but was allowed to run the day after surgery) all is going well, just a bit tender when I move and when the area gets bumped. Have dissovleable stitches so no follow-up appt. just free to go.
