Low WBC
I was just told my blood test showed my white blood count is 2.5 (Low). It has been 4 months since having my last chemo and final nulesta shot. My last chemo was mid Nov. so I am wondering about this. Before cancer I had good wbc readings. Anyone else have low wbc reading after chemo was complete. I did not have radiation…

My question is that my cancer has come back in the right lung and my Dr says that it was from the Breast Cancer from the right breast that was 6 years ago. I have gone through 2 treatments of Chemo Lxempra. I just had a CT scan on Fri of last week got the result on Mon. and the chemo has not shrunk the tumor he is going to…

Concerned when they tell me no routine scans will be done
First, does anybody have this feeling when treatment is done of it not seeming right that they aren't actively doing anything anymore? Much as I am thrilled to have just finished radiation and have finished treatment that started in June 2010, I get this odd feeling that we are not doing anything to fight it anymore which…

I desided to go to Kmart yesterday(bad idea), I ha just gone in thhe store and was talking with a friend when i though I was having a hot flash, so i removed my jacket and kind of leaned on a display of bottle water. Week of tests and drs
Went to gyn today for hot flash relief. Tomorrow I see Rheumatologist and have bone density done. She is keeping an eye on my bones since I started Arimidex in Jan 2011. Wednesday I'll have CT scan to check on nodes found during PET scan back in August 2010. Thursday I see Radiologist for 1 month check since finishing…

Losing Fingernails _ any suggestions?
My best friend is on her second round of chemo and her nails are ridged and now she is starting to lose them! If you have any suggestions to help her, it would be greatly appreciated. I haven't posted on here for quite awhile: Cancer free and beautifully flat chested (after producing fluid for almost a year!) I check in…

See Surgeon Tomorrow
I go tomorrow to see my surgeon tomorrow late afternoon (14 days post surgery) to hopefully have the stitches out and get my first chance to see the skin graft and new nipple. I am hoping the graft has taken and that all is well. I have no idea how many stitches there are, just eyeballing it it looks like LOTS! Will update…

Final step in treatments being finished - had my port removed
Tuesday March 8th, went through and had my port removed. Except for not being allowed to lift anything for 48 hours (but was allowed to run the day after surgery) all is going well, just a bit tender when I move and when the area gets bumped. Have dissovleable stitches so no follow-up appt. just free to go.

Been a While
Since I posted. Still fighting my demons I guess. Friday morning I have to go in for an endoscopy and colonoscopy. My CBC is not responding to the medication and my oncologist referred me to a gastroenterologist. He said he was going to do the endoscopy to see if I have any bleeding ulcers and the colonoscopy to make sure…

Ativan
Can anyone give me some help with this? My dr. prescribed Ativan for me due to occasional depression but I didn't take any yet. Well today I had to go for an MRI for an unrelated-to-breast-cancer reason (pinched nerve in my neck). My General dr. told me to take an Ativan for anxiety prior to the MRI (I have claustrophia…

Angels come in many forms
I had a special angel today. Went to the mailbox and there was a pink paper cross with the breast cancer logo on it. You pull the cross piece and it opens and has a message/prayer inside. It was sent to me by Jean and it came at a perfect time. It really lifted my day, my spirits and my heart. thank you so much dear angel…

Went to Gyn re hot flashes
and he recommended Savella. I'm 62 and 12 post menopausal. Since starting Arimidex in Jan my hot flashes are dripping bad and frequent. I had never heard of Savella. He said it may relieve some of my arthritic pain since it's prescribed for fibromyalgia. He gave me enough samples til my annual visit w/him in May. I sure…

PET/CT VS NO PET/CT
Hi ALL! Just had one simple question. Why is it that some cancer patients get PET scans and some don't? How many people didn't get one from here? I also notice they don't recommend it unless needed. I wanted to know your thoughts on this. Thanks! Love

To port or not to port.......
Just wondering what everyone thinks.... I had to do 4 rounds of C/T. The doctor told me that he was going to get me an appointment to get a port put in, but he didn't before my first chemo. It wasn't that bad (the IV part anyway) so I asked him if I could just do the chemo without the port. He said that I could, so I…

Ok since I am serious about praying for others who are in this battle with me, I was wondering how you all keep track of who you are praying for. This is harder for people you haven't actually met before. How do you keep it all striaght? Since I have ADD I try to pray for people right off the bat, right when I write…

implants are too low
I went to my PS and he said my foobs are too low. They do sometimes bother my ribs. The procedure is called thoracoabdominal flap procedure. My understanding is that they go through the mast. scar and attach something (maybe the pocket) to the rib cage. PS said it is a very painful surgery (Yah). I was wondering has anyone…

tomorrow, tomorrow, i love ya tomorrow
Tomorrow at 1020 A.M. I receive the last dose of taxol/neulasta! yipeee! That is, if my WBC came down from where it was last week which was 37.5 I'm betting the farm on this one! I just know it's a go! It will be so good not to have to crawl off to bed for 3 or 4 days with bone pain. I truly hated the taxol much worse than…
