To One In Sorrow....a poem by Grace Noll Crowell
Let me come in where you are weeping, friend, And let me take your hand. I, who have known a sorrow such as yours, Can understand. Let me come in - I would be very still Beside you in your grief; I would not bid you cease your weeping, friend, Tears bring relief. Let me come in - I would only breathe a prayer, And hold…

Wednesday afternoon, after we get Traci back from her next clear mammo, I am leaving on another road trip. I am bringing Moopy's cremated remains up to Winona, Minnesota, where they will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, next to my Mom's grave. Dad and I will be there too, by and by. I'm going wig shopping!
On the pecking order of things to be upset about during breast cancer, my lack of hair really doesn't trump being alive, but I just sat down and cried about it anyway. I did, however, make a decision - and that's to get a wig. Even if I miraculously start growing hair tomorrow, it's going to still be several months before…

Arimidex Angst
Hello all, I have much anxiety over taking this Arimidex. I started it yesterday and am already obsessing over the side effects. The one I am most concerned with is the joint pain. I am sensitive to joint pain, as I had it all during chemo. It was the taxol and the neulasta I received after each round of chemo that caused…

Mama is on morphine, hospice is standing by....UPDATE
Sigh....mom took a turn for the worse (or is it better, all things considered...) today. She is now on Morphine to help with the struggle she has to breathe. They think she aspirated some food, and her very fragile lungs are failing. Hospice is giving a rather bleak outlook for the future. She is a breast cancer survivor,…

Mammo done still scared
Hi all, Well, I had the mammo today and then had the ultrasound. Long day. They found a large and small cyst and enlarged duct. I have never had cysts before,so I am still worried. My family history has lots of BC. younger Sister, Aunt and 2 cousins. And me with my cancers, not BC, I am concerned. I thank you all for your…

Does any one know
where I can find some sites to pass on to a young woman (mid teens) who is going thru Chemo now for Desmoid (sp?) tumor. I have passed this site to her but she says that she isn't accepted to come the CSN. She is at a 'horse forum' I go to a lot. Anyone have any ideas I can pass on? YEAH I know she's not fighting BC but I…

Explanation of NED or Dancing with NED
I know that the newbies don't know what NED or Dancing with NED means. NED means no evidence of disease. I don't know if the doctors really say that now, but, it means that your mammo, ultrasound, PET, CT scan or any other test you have comes back clean or clear. They found no cancer! So, NED is very good! I hope this…

Goodbye mama...(my tribute to her)
My mom was not just my mom, but a friend as well. She listened as I struggled with different things in my life, always being my support. And then, when I met my beau, she opened her arms and heart to him and his family. She certainly had her down periods, but she always sprang back from each with great optimism and a…

I know it's only a mammogram...but wondering if the bus might be free on Wednesday?
I'm over a year out of treatment, and have had 2 clean mammograms since then, but the "scanxiety" is still almost unbearable. Wondering if you all can come with me on Wednesday at 11:30 to calm my nerves and give me some moral support? I know some of you hate to get up early, so I made sure to make it later for you!…

Still So Tired 3 Weeks Post Chemo
Hi everyone. I finished chemo three weeks ago and I find I'm still fatigued. It doesn't take much and I get so tired, I am so tired. Just going out to run normal errands leaves me spent for energy. Has anyone else experienced this? How long does it last?

Hair
So, I am 4 weeks post-chemo and my hair is growing. Yay! But it is coming in super soft and totally gray. How long until I can safely color it and have any of you heard from others that it's a good idea to trim down the "baby hair" to make it grow back the texture it once was? Bonnie

New to Cancer
I was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma Infiltrating Lobular Cancer Friday, April 15. Since I discovered this on my own, (mammograms do not identify this type most of the time), I have read everything I could find on the disease. I had little to no knowledge of any cancers, as it has never been an issue in my family. I had…

weather!
After a very long hot summmer in 2010, our country had a difficult winter too. Now the central and southern US are being attacked by vicious spring storms. Just wanted to check in with everyone to see that you're OK. There are terrible fires in Texas and N.M. too, due to drought conditions. Hope this finds everyone safe…

I think I am in denial and does it last this long?
Last Friday my rads onco relayed the news to me at my appointment with him that he and my onco had chatted earlier in the day, I was an intermediate oncotype and would be getting chemo. I wasn't expecting my oncotype back that quick so I was surprised to receive the news. Anyway, since about last Tuesday or so I have been…

Shout out to MyTurnNow: Are you home safe and sound?
I remember our Betty Boop Lady had to fly to Oklahoma for a family funeral last week -- I hope flying without a compression sleeve worked out all right for you, that you and your family were able to find a little joy among the sadness, and that you were able to make it home safe and sound around all the treacherous weather…

Asexual - Not a Woman or a Man
I read a post by another poster who was having problems buying a bra, but what grabbed me most was her comment about sexuality. I had a mastectomy of the left breast in January. We talk about all kinds of things on this board, but I did not know how to approach the subject of sexuality. As a woman, it was hard losing my…

I had a lumpectomy and just last week had a re-excision and also a port inserted. I will be starting chemo in a couple/few weeks once I'm recovered from the…

I was a match but then they discovered I had bc. He just turned 37 so he will be at least 40before he's off dialysis. I've been…

Hair Loss
Having been diagnosed with breast cancer 6 weeks ago, the losing of my hair was a hard thing to swallow! We as females think that our hair defines us. I decided that I would take matters into my own hands and shave it off. Having some kind of control really empowers you and not having to go through the emotional…
