swollen calves and feet?
Hi everybody. I'm feeling much better. But since getting out of the hospital my feet and calves are retaing fluid. Could this be from all the iv fluids given me for 4 days? I see the doctor on Monday but wondered if this happened to any of you. The diuretics didn't help much at all. Hope it's not another serious thing…

Mets question
Hi ladies. There are so many wonderful and caring people on here, I know I can trust asking a question. I try not to automatically think something is cancer as I know that we survivors still must deal with other ailments. I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance. Last October I had an MRI for lower back pain/severe…

Is There a Best Time of Day for Radiation?
I am having my radiation simulation on Friday, and I figure they will want to set my radiation schedule. I go to work every day so I would like schedule it for early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Assuming I have a choice, is one time better than another? Thanks. Mary

invasive ductal carcinona
My 57 year old sister advised me she has breast cancer. It is progestrin & estrogen receptive. HER 2; 4 cm PET SCAN: SUV 3.0 no indication of any other involvement. She is scheduled to have her breast removed and was wondering - does she really need to have her lymph nodes removed? Why can't they just biopsy the lymph…

Being deported on Friday
Yippee! I can't wait! While I loved my power port for treatment that part of my life ended at Thanksgiving. With my weight loss etc. the thing has become a real pain. My seatbelt rubs it. The kittens bump it. The support pads on the machines at Curves push on it. And it pulls sometimes. I really know it's there! All the…

Good news
Went for another of my 3 month check-ups with my surgeon. I was a little concerned as I felt a little bump where my lumpectomy scar is. He said all is fine and I had nothing to worry about. It was pretty normal for this to happen. He also had a medical student with him and asked if it was OK with me if he showed her how to…

A Bit of an Update...
I emailed my surgeon's oncology nurse on Tuesday with concern. I had noticed that there was an increase in fluid build up under the skin of my mastectomy site across my chest, the length of my scar. It was visibly noticeable, but more disconcertingly, it felt and looked like a little waterbed on my chest. So, I got a call…

I got the results at work today...
...that little lump wasn't just scar tissue. I don't have a plan of attack yet. The surgeon is recommending a CT or PET scan for "restaging", nothing scheduled yet. I'll definitely need surgery to try and get clean margins again, no schedule for that either. I haven't talked with the onc yet, so I don't know what he's…

And what better way than to share the good we give back to others? So...what causes do you…

It's Hubby fault I wound up in UC - DR says!
YUP - I wound up in UC (Urgent Care) yesterday and the Dr says it's Hubby's fault - I agree -absolutely his 'fault'!
