Concern about Pam5 and Question
Hi, Everyone! I'm here tonight, because Pam's not in any shape to go online. She's felt terrible for the past three days, and she's running a fever tonight of 101--even after taking ibuprofen. She saw her GP today, because she can't seem to stop coughing. He said he couldn't really detect infection in her lungs, but…

Question about fighting Time and cancer
Hi sisters -- I want to start by saying I don't mean to sound offensive to anyone, but I wish I could understand this. I often get confused about something that makes my days blue. I am sure you hear or read about people saying "she/he fought for 3 year", or whatever the time may be since their diagnosis. What exactly does…

complete hysterectomy and bc
I was 38 yrs old when dx with bc. estrogen positive. Onocologist said, chemo would put me into menopause and later I could take tamoxifen to keep my body from absorbing estrogen. After a little research though I decided to have complete hysterectomy. That way I can make sure my ovaries will no longer produce estrogen. Your…

Crazy rash? infection? on breast
So I am 3 months out of rads and now I have some crazy rash on that breast. When I went to the gyno 3 weeks ago and she gave me my breast exam she asked if I was doing anything for under my breast. I didn't know there was anything wrong under there! So I went home and started using the nystatin cream and powder that I used…

One more thing crossed off the post-cancer treatment list
Went today and had the 2nd and last of what I call my "chemo cavities" filled. I hadn't had to have a filling in years and years, had 1 break and need repair about 5 years ago but no cavities in probably 30 years, I thought there was nothing left to fill. My check up after chemo and rads showed 2 new cavities and now they…

He's my brother--priceless
Two young boys walked into a pharmacy one day, picked out a box of tampons and preceded to the checkout counter. The man at the counter asked the older boy, "Son, how old are you?" "Eight," the boy replied. The man continued, "do you know what these are used for?" The boy replied, "not exactly, but they aren't for me.…

OT: Walking & my co-workers
Many of you know I'm a Human Resources Manager in sunny Southern California. For the past couple of years, I’ve been committed to walking on my lunch hour –- and did a pretty decent job of mostly keeping that up even through surgery, 4 rounds of chemo, and 7 weeks of radiation. Sometimes, I’ll walk in a nearby quiet…

A guy fell asleep on the beach and got a horrible sunburn, specifically to his thighs. He went to the hospital and was admitted with second-degree burns. His skin was starting to blister and he was in severe pain so the doctor prescribed continuous saline, electrolytes, a sedative, and a Viagra pill every four hours. The…

RE: http://www.dailybulletin.com/ci_18800859 --- I went to Loma Linda Urgent Care and was seen by Dr. Fakhoury. He is a very good, thorough, doctor and a true professional who actually listens. I never felt uncomfortable and I had to totally disrobe and put on a gown. I even removed my underwear and never once felt ill at…

Friday's MRI Results, etc. ...
Friday's MRI results were "lovely" (direct quote). No additional suspicious areas detected. All pre-op exam & test results were good to go, too. Therefore, was spared potential biopsy/biopsies and appts./tests this week - just several phone calls. So relieved. LOVE my new surgeon - she's absolutely awesome! Completed her…

Partner Disgusted by scar
It has been one week since my bilateral mastectomy. I will never forget the look on my partner's face when I took off the bandages and she saw my scars for the first time. She tried so hard not to show the terror on her face and to stop herself from crying. Since then, she has been acting differently. She doesn't kiss me…
