First new baseline mammogram
I was just wondering when did you all get your first new baseline mammogram after a lumpectomy and radiation? My oncologist said I should have it 6 months (Oct) after radiation(finished in April) along with a bone density test since i started arimidex a week ago. My surgeons nurse told me after my last check up that I…

update on meds causing excessive sweating: amatriptoline
It seems that the amatriptoline was behind all that sweat! I looked it up and it causes excessive sweating. I also spoke to a cousin who knows about meds and interactions and he said that that and other drugs taken at the same time can cause the side effects. I stopped taking it and I am starting to return to normal. Is…

Steroids suck - no baby girl yet
Was having posting issues yesterday so couldn't let you all know the latest. Saw MO on Thursday and touched base on some issues, kind of a little hand patting session to just make sure I am actually hearing what I am absorbing, I am, so that helps. I want to start off with extending a welcome to the newbies and conveying my condolences that we had to meet this way. I have found this to be an excellent source of information and emotional support. That being said, I feel a need to remind everyone that whatever you post can be read by anyone on the Internet. It is not…

Biopsy needed with recurrent breast cancer
I was "fortunate" in that, because it had been so long since my breast cancer, we did a biopsy to both confirm diagnosis and to see what we were dealing with. My original tumor was ER and PR positive. My metastasis was ER + but PR negative. It is fairly common for breast cancer to change over time. Studies are beginning to…

Please cheer me on
I've decided to let my hair grow. Every time I've tried since chemo, I think it's going to be thin, but ok, and then it gets about 2" long and it's obvious it's not ok and I cry and buzz it short again. My friend is a hairdresser and she's going to help with keeping it shaped to grow into a style. My New Year's resolution…
