stereotactic biopsy - risks
I've often wondered if this didn't cause a spread during the weeks before the lumpectomy. The lump was large enough to do without the guided x-ray - I sat up - and the mammogram clearly showed cancer before the biopsy. In fact before the radiologist opened her mouth, I said: My God, I have cancer and she replied: I'm…

stereotactic biopsy - who here had one?
When I noticed my lump at the end of 2000, I went for a mammogram, found cancer, and the radiologist performed a stereotactic biopsy the same day which left me bruised and with some pain but it healed up. That gave me a pathology report which I showed to two surgeons and choose the one at the cancer institute. The one from…

I was very flexible in my arm and shoulder before my mastectomy with immediate reconstruction (arches, back bends, bridges). I have a tissue expander now and was wondering if anyone could speak to the issue of flexibility and upper body strength after the implant is in place.

chemo update
Of course the reality of this new chemo combo was not nearly what I was building up in my head. I was thinking more like the original TAC chemo, and it wasn't that bad. The zofran worked very well on the nausea, I only took one compazine. The biggest s/e was sleepiness. I slept most of the day when we got home, and a good…

How Does Someone with Cancer Rate Oneself as to General Health
How often it is that I have had to rate my general health -- excellent, good, fair, poor. Does having/having had cancer downgrade a person in how one's general health is rated? Aside from dealing with bc the past year -- and now only having to have follow-up appointments and taking tamoxifen -- I feel as good, or even…
