Loss of flexibility and strength after implants
I was very flexible in my arm and shoulder before my mastectomy with immediate reconstruction (arches, back bends, bridges). I have a tissue expander now and was wondering if anyone could speak to the issue of flexibility and upper body strength after the implant is in place.

chemo update
Of course the reality of this new chemo combo was not nearly what I was building up in my head. I was thinking more like the original TAC chemo, and it wasn't that bad. The zofran worked very well on the nausea, I only took one compazine. The biggest s/e was sleepiness. I slept most of the day when we got home, and a good…

I'm done with 4 rounds of AC with very few side effects(I took many supplements--didn't even need neulasta(SP?), but an now concerned with the TAXOL . I'll have it every week for 12 weeks. do you do breast self-exams after mastectomy
I had a double mastectomy and have not been doing breast self-exams. My breast surgeon asked me if I was doing them, but then she said I didn't 'have to.' I feel like I probably should be doing them, but I go see my onc and breast surgeon every 3 months and part of me feels they know better what to look for. I was…

How Does Someone with Cancer Rate Oneself as to General Health
How often it is that I have had to rate my general health -- excellent, good, fair, poor. Does having/having had cancer downgrade a person in how one's general health is rated? Aside from dealing with bc the past year -- and now only having to have follow-up appointments and taking tamoxifen -- I feel as good, or even…

CSN or Greta FIX THIS WEBSITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been trying to get on this board since the update. I think I have succeeded three times since then, and I have tried at least 60 times. We are not able to communicate and share our journies together. We are not able to find out how others are doing during a time we know is a crisis. This is just unacceptable. I say…

Had PET scan this afternoon.
I don't know why I was so stressed over this one. It's my third one now so I should be used to it. I really hate the 24 hours without carbs and the 6 hours without eating anything. I also hate the IV to check the blood sugar and inject the radioactive glucose solution, the "relaxing" wait for it to travel wherever it needs…

Period after Chemo
I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago, went through chemo and radiation. I have not had a period in 2 years until yesterday. The flow is extremely HEAVY to point where I'm a little freaked out. Today, while at work (I'm a h.s. guidance counselor) and scheduling classes I had to change before each 90 minute class…

rib pain
Hi all, I haven't been on in a long while, but am in need of some input from you all. I have had sore ribs for over two weeks now. I started out just thinking it was whatever and that it would go away. I can't think of anything I've done to cause it. The pain is on my left side, the same side as my BC which I finished…

Thank you all for reposes and sucess stories. I am still having trouble with this ear infection. The node in my neck where the cancer is has been a hard lump. Now the whole right side of my neck is swollen and very tender to the touch, but it is not hard, I don't know if it is a reaction to the ear infection or something…

New chemo tomorrow, and I'm surprised to be nervous.
So this is my 5th chemo combo, and it will be meds number 7 and 8. Carboplatin and Gemzar. I'm nervous because my onc prescribed zofran and compazene. The last couple of chemo meds have been really easy when it comes to stomach/digestive issues, and I haven't needed any meds. I'm just not looking forward to being sick that…

Second cancer, second thoughts
Hi, I've read some older posts regarding HR/invasive breast cancer in premenapausal women. I am 45. I was recently diagnosed with a second breast cancer in the opposite breast. The first cancer was diagnosed in 2009, had a lumpectomy + radiation + tamoxifen. That breast remains cancer-free. The other breast has a tumor…
