Celebrating Happy News :)))))))
For those that are in rads and have been following my rash after I finished rads, it is gone. I got the prescription last Friday and it started helping right away. It was so much better yesterday and then today, it is gone. No more itching, no more rash. And just in time. It was driving me crazy or should I say crazier?…

Question about my latest CT Scan
Hello Everybody, I just finished my last herceptin treatment, and of course had a CT Scan, my doctor was on vacation, so I met with her nurse, and found out that my liver has a small hepatic cyst, the nurse told me not worry about it. However after I got home, I looked at my blood work, and seen that my alakaline…

Help badly needed
Hi everyone! I'm a newbie here. I need help so badly. Maybe I'm just being paranoid about the result of my last breast ultrasound. I was diagnosed with Colon ca with liver mets on July 2010. I completed my chemo sessions on April 2011. Then my PET SCAN revealed an uptake on my thyroid. I had thyroidectomy then RAI. Thank…

Doe1504, I will be with you on the Pink Bus tomorrow.
I know tomorrow is your first chemo and I will be right there with you with prayers and hugs. I'll even drive the bus if you would like. Try to be calm and if you need it, take the med to relax you (it even helps with nausea on the day of tx). Take care and let us know how you are doing. God bless, Sandy

Port removal from jugular?
Hi there! This Thursday I'm getting my last chemo treatment and I am very excited to be done with it! It's been 4 months and I now get a few weeks off and then start radiation for 6-7 weeks. I'm starting to plan for September when everything will be done and will, hopefully, get the port removed so I can go back to…

Unexpected Emotions
Today while sitting at my desk at work, all of a sudden my eyes filled with tears and started running down my cheeks. I felt sad, but I really don't know why. For the last five months, since I first found out that I have breast cancer--I have just plunged in and tired to just focus on what was ahead me, the decisions to be…

Research
For those of you who aren't aware, but are interested in helping in research, www.armyofwomen.org is a great place to go. I believe you have to create an account, then go to Sign Up Today, then Current Projects. For years, I wanted to participate somewhere, somehow, but could never figure out the NIH sites (you can still…

I am having problems after finishing rads, anyone else?
I finished rads about 2 weeks ago and now I have started to itch. Has this happened to anyone else? I was hoping I would start to get better by now. Also, I am still exhausted. When will I get my energy back or will I? Thank you.

Opinions welcome, please---- OT kind of....
I want to move to the northeast. My children have moved away, my parents are deceased, and I no longer have family here. Moving is scary, but it can also be my new adventure and a renewed "lease on life". I grew up in the northeast and have family and friends there, even though I have been gone many years. So, to move or…

Swimming during Chemo?
Hi Everyone, I am interested in hearing your opinions on swimming in public and/or private pools while you are a chemo patient? What has your oncologist said and have you had a bad experience after swimming in a public pool? I know about the issue with direct sunlight. I would have an umbrella for that. I just wanted to…

Feeling So Good
School where I live ended last Friday for staff. Now I am on my break, although I am busy this week with my church's Vacation Bible School. Last year at this time I was two rounds short of finishing chemo and then heading onto rads. This year I am feeling really good. I feel "normal," for the most part. I have my energy…

one more try/someone please answer!/AI comparison question
I have been taking Femara for 5 years and have chosen to continue with some anti-estrogen medicine. I want to switch from Femara to see if I have less depression and hair thinning - these are the side effects I've had on it - with anothe drug. Is there anyone out there who has taken Aromasin or Tamoxifen (especially…

What happened to the old me
The old me didn't cry. I think I cried maybe 3 times in the past five years. The new me cries at the drop of a hat. I hate the way I look when I pass a mirror. I'm bald now. My eyebrows are starting to fall out. My feet and ankles are swollen so that I don't even recognize them. I am tired all the time. I just want the old…

No chemo for me
I had an appointment yesterday and medical board decided for Tamoxifen and no chemo. I asked my doctor for an explanation since I had one positive node and two tumors and he said that the most important factors for decisions are properties of the tumors. I have to believe that this was the right decision after all. I do…

Took the plunge today, shaved it off
Was not as difficult to accept as I thoughtt. It was pretty painless, but really chilly when the AC kicks in. Have a very important question? How do you keep the wig still? It feels like it is wiggling around. I tried tightening it, but it felt like it was going to pop up, guess I got it too tight. Is it something you just…

He asked if I had taken a multi vit I said yes through rads I should not have . With what he said I basically got no benifit from it . It got me pissed but oh well life goes on.

Funny story from hospital
So, because it took 5 hours (really) to get out of bed before I went to the ER, my husband fed me all kinds of pills. I couldn't lift my head for water, so he gave me pieces of chocolate cookies to swallow pills with. After a while, he was panicked and said "&^&%&* you are bleeding from your face and arms" I said that was…
