Looking for someone dealing with breast cancer mets to the skin. I really, really would like to talk to someone going through this horrible disease. I am on AVastin and Abraxine and it is spreading by the day. They took me off so that they can do a staging PET/CT as I have been having hip pain. I am in pain both physically…

Sun problems
I live in Louisiana-land of hot as hades summers--always in the 90's, lows in the high 70's or 80's and 70% humidity. Think sauna! Usually, we head to the mountains in the summer. This summer, on chemo, I am not ready to go anywhere. My oncologist warned me that on my regimen (perjeta, herceptin, taxotere) I should be…

UPDATE: "Insist on biopsy?"
Hi ladies! After much contemplation and discussions with my husband, I decided to call my doctor back and ask him to send my chart to another local (West Lafayette, IN) doctor for a second opinion. He apparently reviewed my chart again before sending and decided to call me back (Monday 6/11/13) and ask me if I would be ok…

Had to go to ER
I had a hard time with n/v. It seemed the more I tossed the worse it got. I coudln't hold on to solids or liquids. I got so weak I couldn't walk from my bedroom to the living room without stopping at the bathroom to rest. I was taking my nausea meds regularly, but it didn't help. Did not even think to call and get new…

A new problem. I finished up my rad treatments last week.
I had my last check up with my rads doctor , but now seeing the Oncologist and surgeon. Seeing these two really upset me. I did my full body scan and will know the results after Tuesday. My doctors said if the cancer has spread or affected other areas, they didn't think they would do anything else like chemo or surgery.…

Do you feel like this?
While cleaning the house today, once again, I struggled with the idea of putting my bc "stuff" away. By away, I mean in the attic. I've been NED now for years, and, pray it is a lifetime of NED, but, it's like I am afraid if I move all of my "stuff", that it will jinx me somehow and something will happen. By my "stuff", I…

Aquaphor is my friend at this point. Three more weeks and I will be finished with this phase of my treatment. Tamoxifen is my next course. Am a little uneasy,…

Let's start with the awesome news first....
Drumroll...my liver function tests (which were improved and nearly normal 3 weeks ago) are now all completely within normal limits. This is the very first time since February! I should have a PET scan shortly, but I believe in my heart my chemo is melting those 231 liver lesions. Appetite and nausea are slowly improving.…
