Now I'm finding it almost impossible to sleep. Can't find a comfortable place to put the fanny pack. It gets easier,,,doesn't it? Melodie

Hey all, I've had a real hard time swallowing today. Any thoughts or comments? Also, I know there are wig and turban banks, does anyone know of places that will wash your hair? With the chemo line I can't do it without getting my PICC Line wet, and I'm starting to feel gross. Thanks, Melodie

Walking/Running Billboard to Raise Awareness
Hi Everyone-- Yesterday, I participated in the 2010 Peachtree Road Race 10K in Atlanta. I took advantage of the fact that I was going to be surrounded by 55,000 people and turned myself into a living, breathing billboard about Anal Cancer. I have added a pic taken of me prior to the race. The front of my shirt says "Anal…

One treatment down...
and it wasn't bad at all. Here's the rundown. Little communication issue, got there two hours too early because they had scheduled labs prior to infusion. I had lab last Wednesday after the Med/Onc appointment so that I did not have to come early today. Apparently the right hand didn't tell the left hand so...two hours to…

Communication breakdown - No chemo today?
Looks like somebody dropped the ball. No appointment was scheduled for me today for chemo. Med/Onc is implying it was a pharmacist error...who knows? Can't decide if I am relieved or annoyed. Ok, I decided...annoyed. Well I will try to make the day a productive one regardless. Will keep you updated. Blessings to all,…

Start Chemo Monday
Yep, Monday it is. Had a PET this past Monday that apparently shows no activity except in the pleura. That is good news. Liver is still inactive according to report. I will start a two cycle regimen of chemo with Carbo/Taxol. This is the same as what Winnie got, except she also had 5FU, for her liver mets. Med/Onc says she…

I was diagnosed with Stage II, no lymph nodes, anal cancer in December 2009. It was hard news to deliver in a variety of ways with kids ages 21 to 4. I had the "garden variety" of treatment, chemo at the start sandwiched with chemo at the end and radiation inbetween. I remember my oncolgist asking me if I'd had frequent…

Female issues - Questions for the gals on the board
Based on posts I'd read here I thought it would be a good idea to go see my gynecologist to ensure that I do not end up with some of the problems and issues that others have run into. Also, I've been having a small amount of discharge that I wanted to have checked. And there were a couple of bumps I had noticed that were…
