Surgeon - Input/Experiences?
Input & recommendations are appreciated. We have read all the great reviews about Dr. Tewari at Cornell. We have spoke with them and while we are willing to travel, we are unsure of the insurance coverage - it may be a factor. We are also VERY interested in people's experience with Dr. Patel, who also claims to have done…

Cialis/Viagra post RP as "lifesyle" drug - who's advocating to change this
Many of us taking Cialis/Viagra/Levitra after radical prostatectomy have been prescribed these drugs as part of the therapy necessary to restore sexual function after surgery. The course of treatment calls for 10mg (half a pill) every other day - that works out to 15 pills per month. Yet most prescription insurance plans…

I want to make a guess, in October they will let us know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I am glad they will do…

My experience at Loma Linda
I was treated with proton beam therapy at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, CA. The patient support was tremendous, both in the treatment room and outside the treatment room. While each case is different, it appears that a common journey to asub-1.0 PSA takes around two years. My experience appears to be…

My husband had his biopsy in April and thankfully the results were benign. any imrt thoughts?
I am deciding on a treatment. I am psa 2.1, t2b, and 3+4. We have the latest multibeam, modulated intensity radiation machine here and the dr. says it can be my primary treatment. It promises low side effects (much lower than old external beam)and easier treatment than surgery. Any thoughts?

Treatment of Metastasized, Hormone-Refractory Prostate Cancer (HRPC)
I have exhausted all conventional forms of treatment for advanced prostate cancer and have recently started a docetaxel (taxotere) chemo protocol. To my knowledge, this is the end of the line though I've also heard of a carboplatin option. My docetaxel (Taxotere) infusions are every 3 weeks for a maximum of 14 infusions. I…
