2 year Post Op PSA recurrance. Radiation? Hormone therapy?
Two years after robotic surgery, my PSA began to rise. It is now at 0.68. This is a low number but it was 0.42 in November so it is a concern. Radiation has been recommended. Also Hormone therapy with Casodex and Luperon is also an option. Has anyone had experience with either of these therapies? Side efffects? Impotence?…

Cancer may or may not emit PSA
At our visit with the urologist today, I asked if all prostate cancers emitted PSA. The answer surprised me: he said that no, not all of them did and sometimes the more deadly cancers did not emit near as much PSA. Scary thoughts! He also said that in development is a urine test for prostate cancer.

At a loss. continued....
So I am unsure on where to begin so I am jumping in head first. My boyfriend's father was diagnosed in 2007 that he had colon cancer. I believe at this time he decided to treat the cancer with natural remedies, homeopathic Dr.'s and an organic diet. This seemed to be "working" (feeling better, looking better and keeping a…

How do you deal with the stress?
My Dad has prostate cancer. In recent days, his blood pressure has crept up to extremely high levels - yesterday's reading was 177/107. I'm certain that it's related to the anxiety over his unsuccessful surgery and rising PSA. How can he relieve his stress? I've given him some mediations to listen to on his iPod, but they…

Time for men to take a stand on PC
We have all read different comments on this site about Prostate Cancer(PC), and how little a lot of people know about it, and that many think it is just a slow cancer that is a good type of cancer to have, and it sure dosen't look like we have anything wrong with us if we have PC. As men, we don't push the issue like we…

sorry ladies it is time for equal rights :-)
This is why we need to spread the word on Prostate Cancer…as the “general public” believes it is no big deal and we all know better… My wife came back from a “girl’s night” out for dinner and some of the ladies thought that I had pancreatic cancer. When they found out I had prostate cancer then the conversation went to…

PSA Lab Results
Hi All, My name is John and my sister Nicole has asked a question regarding our Dad and his PSA level post-prostatectomy. He had robotic surgery and it went very well. We researched the surgeons to find out who is one of the best and we were able to find out. I think this helped a lot with his side effects. The question I…

Hey Guys. I'm new to the board. I was diagnosed in Nov. 09 with very early prostate ca. My PSA was 6.8 and a rectal biopsy showed <1% of the total taken. I am 52 and have been in good health. I had a DiVinci on Jan. 26, 2010 in Indianapolis by Dr. John Scott. Surgery went well and I had my cath removed 8 days later. I plan…

Cancer related- Sleep aide?
At night I am very restless and have to keep up 3- 6 or more times to go to the restroom. Flowmax does not help- I have no such problem during the day. I have used Xanax sparingly and have had good results with it, but I am afraid of Xanax- it is addicting. So I am wondering what others have used to help them relax and…

On December 28, 2009 I was diagnosed with PC. I just turned 55. My PSA is between 2.8-4.10 (two test within a week in December 09). I had a 15 core biopsy and have been diagnosed with Stage T2B with Gleason grade 7 cancer (4+3). My bone scan and CT were negative. This was stated during my annual physical on Dec 4th when my…

Pre Surgery Diet?…
Of interest to me anyway and I am not recommending any of this to anyone…This was recommended to me on Dec 4, 2009 by one of my doctors prior to my surgery date (which is March 3 and continue afterwards-post surgery) …I read what everyone is saying here and we (or at least me) are totally “reinventing” ourselves for the…

I Looked at Death Today
I stopped by to visit with a man, 71, who is in end stage prostate cancer. He is now under hospice care. The cancer is now into his bones and he hurts all over. What we are dealing with is serious stuff. If kills, but we all know that. I think if I see someone say, "oh, its only prostate cancer" one more time.... But…
