lung transplant and bone marrow
9 years ago I received a right lung after a pulmonary fibrosis diagnosis. Early last year I was diagnosed with PTLD (lymphoma caused by my anti-rejection drugs). Went through RCHOP chemo and then RICE chemo. Now the Dr at Loyola is recommending a bone marrow transplant. Has anyone else had this experience? Ken

Three month PET/CT shows that my stem cells are doing what was planned after the SCT!( diffusely increased marrow signal in the axial sleleton, presumably due to marrow activation). PET shows nothing else!! I am sooooo happy right now, although I keep thinking " been there, done that" Moving on!!

Hello friends. My mom had her 5th and last r-chop treatment 10 days ago. She is home, neutropenic, tired and having bone pain. She is in as good spirits as a person can be in this condition. She has her first pet scan scheduled for Feb. 9. We are scared she won't be able to proceed with the planned stem cell transplant,…

What happens with the dead cancer cells after chemotherapy?
Hi All, I was wondering what happens with the cancer cells that were killed by chemotherapy? How are they eliminated by the body, is that by the immune system? What is left after chemo from a tumor larger than 6 cm in diameter? Scar tissue? How long it takes to get rid of all this debris of dead cells? I suppose each body…

My Dad again
Dad had his kidney removed on January 7th. As far as we know now he is cancer free. Both lymphoma cancers are dead and now the kidney cancer is gone. 3 days after getting the kidney removed he got very weak. I told the Doctors that he has a history of c-diff. They listened to me and started him on antibiotics before they…

New here....but not to lymphoma - glad to have found y'all!
I have just started a Rituxan maintenance once every 8 weeks for 2 years. I have great reservations about it - but it seemed to be the best course for me. I was diagnosed at the very end of 2009 with splenic margianal zone lymphoma - had 8 rounds of CVP-R - had a terrible reaction to the Ritusan the first time I got it,…

I am terrified always with every little ache and pain that the cancer is back and I don't know how to deal with it all. I know all the theory behind positive thinking , low of attraction but how…

Don't know where to start
Hi, I had my annual physical in May and my bloodwork showed a PSA of 2700. I had what they thought was shingles in October and when they repeated the same bloodwork it showed my PSA at 4400. I had more bloodwork in January and since it was still 4400 they did a prostate biopsy. I get the results for that in 5 more days.…

Supporting daughter with Hodgkins
Hi! My name is Claire. I've just joined this forum after reading a few of the posts. This seems like a very caring, supportive group. My daughter's journey: The first time that she was really ill was last January. Between then and the end of March, she had seen three pediatricians and one dermatologist. She had symptoms…

Nausea and Vomiting
I was diagnosed with pediatric non-hodgkins lymphoma in January of 2015. I'm currently in maintenance, but have been vomitting and feeling nausea after most meals since right after induction in around Feb/March. I've had a gastric emptying study, a brain MRI, and an endoscopy and all came back normal. I'm getting sick…

Been through 12 chemo treatments and now going for biopsy
this post is for my son in law. He. Has been through 12 chemo treatments for Hodgkin lymphoma. Today he had a biopsy and was told he may have to go for either stem cell or radiation as the 12 initial treatments didn't get all the cancer. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Hopefully he will join the forum and have these…

Muscle pain
does anyone have any ideas/experience controlling muscle and body aches with something other than prednisone? I think it could be classified as neuralgia and came along as an uninvited guest with my lymphoma. I just hate the side effects of prednisone. The NSAIDs like naproxen and ibuprofen help but damage my stomach. My…

It's back, so I am too
You know how you should take your own advice? Well guess who didn't? That's right - ME! (Yes, I use a lot of sarcasm - anger cloaked in humor). Original diagnosis in 2009, watch & wait until 2010. I started Rituxin only treatments, once a week for 4 weeks every 6 months for 2 years. I was clean! Fast forward Feb 2016, I…
