Woo hoo
So I finally heard back from my surgeon and praise the Lord...there is no second Tumor! My scans were reviewed by 3 urologist and 3 radiologist and it was a mistake by the original radiologist. So I still have the original "spot" 1.5 cm that hasn't moved or grown at all and the plan is still in place to burn that sucker…

Tumor invades into renal parenchyma, focally. What does this mean?
Tumor invades into renal parenchyma. What does this mean? Also, what do they mean by focally? I think my husband's staging would have been a 1 or 2 if that wasn't present. So, his stage is PT3. Maybe I'm basically asking "how bad is this" or "how worried should I be"?

PT3, NX Pathology Report - anyone else out there with PT3 - how are you doing?
Hi everyone: I have been reading over the message boards for quite some time now but have never participated. I find everyone's comments to be very helpful. Sometimes I leave the messages boards (or the entire Internet) feeling a little optimistic and then other times (most times) I have to close the lap top lid and walk…

And round 2
Dr just called I go in today at 4 for a follow up CT. What are the chances of it being a mistake? I've been up all night. I haven't cried this much since this all began. I'm sad, scared and just plain pissed off! I feel so defeated. I feel like a Teflon pan that has none of the non sticky stuff left.

The relief of disability
Well, I did it. Effective yesterday, I'm officially out on disability. And I have to say that I feel lighter, like a burden has been lifted from my body. I don't think I realized just how much the stress of trying to manage the workload was taking a toll on me. I knew it was, but now the difference is palpable. Now my…

Best scan news in almost a year!
Saw the doc today to follow up last week's scans. Tumors are either showing no progression, or they're shrinking. Some of the smaller, newer ones weren't visible at all. The Votrient appears to be off to a great start! Thank you, everyone, for the support and feedback along the way. This is a fantastic group of people, and…

Post Op Kidney Function Percentages
How long after surgery has it taken for your kidney function to regulate? I'm almost seven weeks out now - right after surgery I was at 37% (a radical neph on my left kidney). Both myuruologist and nephrologist agreed that my number was low because of trauma I had during surgery complications and that it would rise. The…

CT scan shows small "consider malignant until proven otherwise" spot
The urologist is on vacation. While we wait until next Tuesday, can anyone explain what the Hounsfield units mean and what we may be looking at as a next step. We aren't in panic mode- just trying to understand what the likely next steps are (no big deal, wait and watch, remove part of it, etc). A little history - he had…
