Atrial Flutter
Went to my Oncologist for my follow up on my Xeloda and Avastin and ended up in ER. I told him my pulse seemed high, he confirmed it, couldn't reach my Cardiologist so I went across the street. They messed with me for a while and the ER Doctor said it wasn't A-Fib but Atrial Flutter. My Cardiologist was at hospital…

What Kind of Painkillers Do You Take?
I have other issues besides the cancer and I'm starting to have them really affect my quality of life. They were there before the cancer but with the subsequent blood clot and stroke and being paralyzed after I haven't been as active as I was before everything. Well, now I am and my issues are cropping up again. I have…

CEA Levels
I'm looking for some comparisons - my father's CEA level is 18. I'm wondering if this is considered a really high CEA. Can't access our Dr. right now, and I am really curious. He just finished is 8th 5FU treatment for colon cancer. Had surgery in October. I'd appreciate any input or comparisons. Thanks.

Purging Things
Well, I still haven't found a job yet after getting fired for missing time wdue to cancer. So after two weeks of feeling sorry for myself I've decided to get rid of things that are of no use to me now in the aftermath of cancer and treatments. Has any one else done this? It's not as hard emotionally as I thought it would…

Interesting article on drug holidays/mutations
https://consultqd.clevelandclinic.org/2017/05/new-strategy-cancer-treatments/ Thought this was interesting. Using drug holidays and second line treatments to "outsmart" tumors when they mutate to become chemo resistant to first line treatment.

Side effect??
I don't know if there's something to do with the neulasta injection but I feel so sick an hour after the shot. The nurse took the pump off the port after 46 hours of drips. Then a shot for white blood cells followed. I am so dizzy!! No appetite for anything, just want to sleep. Have you had any side effects on yours? If…

Cannabis, thoughts?
So I get angry when I get the posts on Facebook about any sort of supposed 'cure' for cancer. To my knowledge, none of them work. Cannabis is one of the ones I see quite often on Facebook. The post usually claims that it cures cancer. If I bother to respond I say that it helps with side effects but it doesn't cure or kill…

Interesting Fact About Skin Cancer in Horses
I wasn't really sure what to title this post but something happened today that I find interesting. My daughter's horse was diagnosed with a sarcoma today. Most white or gray horses end up with them when they're older but my daughter's horse is a palomino and has had one since my daughter got her when she was only three…

Lessons from my first Oxilplatin infusion
Lessons from my first Oxaliplatin infusion. This forum provided valuable insight unavailable elsewhere to help prepare for my first round of Oxaliplatin. I recognize that others have far more experience with this issue than I, but I thought I would summarize things I learned for others like me who search the forum in the…

I am new here. I had a colonoscopy at the end of March. The surgeon took a polyp off and told me to come back in 3 years. Next thing I know my Dr. Office called and said they want to see me. On May 9th I was told I have rectal cancer. I had an MRI and it was in conclusive. My CEA was 7. I had a CT scan on 24th. Waiting for…

Newbie Help Needed re FOLFOX and Anti Nausea Meds
I just wrapped up round 2 of 12 of FOLFOX for stage III SRCC. I'm on 4 antinausea meds, 3 of which make me wicked tired. Has anyone hated this as much as I and gotten results doing something else? Back pain/chemo
I admit, I would like to blame all my problems on chemo. I have had more back pain than usual since starting chemo. I know chemo effects the fast growing cells. Does it make sense that I would be slower to heal from back pain? Has anyone else had this experience? Thanks.

Spine Lesion
I got some good scan results a couple of weeks ago....or so I thought. We've been continuously watching my lungs for many years since I've had a couple of recurrences there. A couple of spots showed up about nine months ago that my oncologist finally feels confident that they have remained stable and that they are most…
