SANDWICH UPDATE FROM COLON-PALOOZA I
The Lisas have taken over SB's pad and computer!!! The Hooter girls just got mad and left. Lisa Rose and I were out on the balcony waving goodbye and that really made them mad. The laid some nasty rubber as they sped off. Lisa Rose and I had to eat their dust. S*&%* happens. As you can tell we got her just fine. Sorry to…

Worried about my Mom.
Hi, Some of you may remember me, I am a CC survivor myself. I recently had a thoracotomy done (in October) for mets to the right lung. I am happy to report that at this time I am NED. My mother, however, just had a colonoscopy done (finally). I was diagnosed in 2002 and it had taken her this long to get around to being…

Happy Happy Joy Joy
Funny how life is like a rollercoaster. Three weeks ago I was laying in my recliner in agony and feeling like total doo-doo. Today I am planning an impromptu trip with friends to Cancun leaving in 2 weeks. Leaving behind grey, cold, muck, slush, and the sadness of the Steelers losing the AFC Championship game. Going to a…

My "best half" is on 5FU/leucovorin and these appeared at the end of round 2-they are not as big as mosquito bites- more like what you would imagine flea bites to look like (nope- he doesn't have fleas!!) Foolish Optimism?
I have been offline for a couple of weeks. The cat killed my mouse. Long story short: we have a bunch of spoiled pets that chew on woodwork, wires and one another. They eviscerate their toys and knock the stuffing of our sofa cushions. They eat so much food we are constantly running to the store hauling 20-pound bags of…

CEA and other markers
There was a thread about CEA marker some time ago. I am one of those whose CEA level was not elevated even at diagnosis. Although I do still have CEA test done periodically, I am pretty skeptical about its value for me. My oncologist is doing another marker test for me, called "CA 19.9". He told me that, among individuals…

Hello all my dear, dear friends. I've missed you all terribly but not a single one of you has been out of my thoughts. Where have I been? Remodeling the house and just doing a bunch of stuff. question re: red blood low due to no illium??
I'm 10/12 of the way through FOLFOX 6 (stage III colon cancer plus Crone's disease). I was anemic before going into surgery and my red blood count has been low throughout chemo, despite my being on 2 iron pill supplements a day since late June. A visiting doctor at my clinic suggested that because they removed my illium…

Well, I had my infusaport put in today. It's under the skin completely. Really strange. They just put a needle into the part that they can feel that is sticking up a little and the meds go into the artery. I start chemo on Thursday morning, so be praying for me. I have a hard road ahead and we're praying that this chemo…
