Chemo cough
Do any of you on chemo have a cough? I am not sure if mine is from chemo or my bad allergies. I also never noticed it before these times of covid. If you have it, do you take anything?

Hi All, my Dad was just diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer a week ago and had part of his colon removed. He's moving onto the chemo stage in 6 weeks but the oncologist he was referred to by the medical group that performed the surgery doesn't seem to be proposing more than a basic regimen. I know there are many…

Cancer is now causing me severe pain **UPDATED**
**UPDATE** Surgery is now scheduled at Sloan Kettering for July 28. The feeling is that chemo won't do much, but they still want me to complete 4 cycles (1 down, 3 to go) before surgery. Plus I need 8 weeks off Avastin (had it 2 weeks ago; discontinued as of now). Surgery would be sooner, but my surgeon is going on…

Rectal cancer recurrence gates
Hello all, I'm new to this forum. I was diagnosed with Stage 3B rectal cancer in July 2018. I've been treated at MD Anderson with radiation/LAR/ileostomy/chemo/reversal and am now awaiting my second scan in Dec. The MD Anderson website has a very good online survival calculator but I'd like more information on what…

Is chemo really necessary?
It is still difficult to talk about, but this seems like the only place for now where I can do so. Last month, my husband was diagnosed with early stage III colon cancer at age 29. It was a massive shock and the scariest time of our lives. Thankfully, by now we are almost out of the woods. My husband had a PET scan done…

Can only laugh
I got my MRI results yesterday on my liver. My last 2 CT scans were good. Showed nothing to be concerened about. Last PET showed same. This MRI showed a 2cm lesion on segment 8 of the liver. Now I'm not stupid, a lesion can be any thing. So that being said I can only laugh about it. I am totally ready for this up and down…

Radiation
Having gone the rounds of chemo the last resort is SBRT. Anyone have experience with it. It's in his pelvis, not sure if that will make a difference. They are recommending 5-10 treatments.

Folfiri stopped working
I've been on Folfiri since June 2018 and have had increases in my CEA. Just found out the tumors in my lungs are growing again. The doctor at my local clinic said that the average time on Folfiri before cancer progresses is only about 3 months so she thinks I did really well on it. However I believe that there were too…

Ketruda was approved
Does anyone know if this means unresectable with no mutations was included? Having studied a lot of math, the use use of "or" in this sentence means each of these types are treatable by keytruda. But, I do know, in general, math logic is not always used correctly in statements. But this is science so hoping! I mean, for…

Good News on Liver CT...But Hold On a Second
I posted my good news that my liver 'maybe mets' were gone for now. I was very happy. But wouldn't you know - my asthma doctor ordered a chest X-ray because of something he saw on that very same scan. And even though my liver looks fine, the radiologist said that my lung X-ray was "concerning for malignancy". I was sent to…

Not worried, BUT...
I get scan results Tuesday. I feel like the results will be stable or good. But that makes me worry because the last time I wasn't that worried about a scan, I had my recurrence. I feel like it is not possible to have a scan and not worry at this point.

Problems post treatment
It's been a long time since I've been here. I'm at my wits end with doctors. In 2019 I was diagnosed with stage three rectal cancer. I first underwent a chemo/radiation combo where I took Xeloda twice a day during the week while getting radiation treatments Monday through Friday. This was followed by surgery that did not…
